If you have ever seen Lorin Gutierrez, whether it is in person or through a picture, then you would know that she is the definition of a young stunner. From her fashion sense to her natural beauty to her toned body, you can easily spot many reasons why people would want to be her. Unfortunately, there are some people who would use any excuse to ruin someone’s fun. Others would ignore this and stay positive. Lorin, on the other hand, took this opportunity to teach people about 21st century women.
“My body doesn’t belong to anyone else apart from me,” this is what Lorin wrote as a response to someone who commented that she should cover herself. The Instagram photo showed off her body in a bikini during a vacation in Thailand. For this reason alone, some netizens thought that there’s a need to tell the 19-year-old what to do—it was not necessary.

“Girls should be able to choose whether they want to be more conservative or showy depending on what they feel comfortable with. Not for a ‘special na tao’ because that special person, whoever they may be, doesn’t own me and should be ok with me being confident in my own skin,” she continued.
Rather than be a cause for argument, however, Lorin stressed that she merely wanted to start a dialogue. “I didn’t expect that picture to go viral like it did,” she stated on Magandang Buhay. She is no stranger to trolls and bashers spreading negativity on the internet, but there was one person who she felt did voice their opinion in a respectful manner. Keeping in mind that people do have a right to their opinion, she added, “that’s what makes the world so interesting, lahat ng tao mayroon different beliefs, different opinions,” she added.
“It wasn’t meant to be parang, ‘you’re wrong, I’m right,’ kasi we can both be right,” Lorin explained. She hoped to open a civilized conversation rather than stoop to someone’s level of petty.
During the interview, she revealed that her mother Ruffa Gutierrez is actually very proud of her. In a separate Magandang Buhay interview, Ruffa could not help but shed tears seeing an all-grown up Lorin and her sister Venice, voicing out their gratitude for the love and care she has shown them as they might soon take their college degrees abroad. “Even if we are far away, we are still gonna text you for anything. That’s not gonna change,” Lorin said.

Admittedly, their family does get more attention than others, but this is not stopping them from being themselves. And about her viral photos, she said they never had any qualms about them “My mom had no problem with that photo,” Lorin shared. Aside from her mom, Annabelle Rama is also in full support. In fact, her grandmother encourages her to embrace her own skin, “she always uplifts me and helps me be more confident”.
Lorin does understand if people think differently about her posts, but generally speaking her family does not think it is a big deal. Even her cousins and aunts in her father’s side have shown some love. “They like it, they comment on it, so I’ll take that as a sign naman na they’re supportive as well,” she ended.
So, in the spirit of celebrating strong and confident women, here are more of Lorin’s photos that show off just how proud she is of her body!
