Take a break from the extreme ‘inis’ that Kim Chiu and JM de Guzman are serving up on their trending series. In this episode of Magandang Buhay The Podcast, the tandem shares insightful stories from their lives off-cam that prove they’re loyal and lovable, a stark contrast to their notoriously hated on-screen characters.
Kim continues to be an inspiration to many with her hard work rooted in love for her family. We stan her for not giving up on her goals, even in the face of challenges, like how she managed to build her dream rest house in Tagaytay during the pandemic. She says that the time in isolation after she contracted the COVID-19 virus enlightened her on the important things in life, one of which is her family’s happiness. She built the rest house, so they’d have one place to go to if they wish to take a breather from the toxicity of city life.
Add to her recent achievements is launching her bag brand, with which she’s very hands-on.
We also love Kim for being strong and independent, proving that she can shine on her own. In this conversation, she reveals why she walked the ABS-CBN Ball 2023 red carpet without her boyfriend Xian Lim.
And who wouldn’t admire a woman who’s incessantly grateful and passionate? Kim is not one to rest on her laurels. She always brings something new to her audience and gives her hundred percent best as a way of giving back to her supporters.
“Kasi, siyempre, hindi naman ‘to forever na may magbibigay sa’yo ng trabaho, na may offer sila sa’yo. Hangga’t may sumusuporta at natutuwa na napapanood nila ako, nandito lang ako to continue doing what I love doing. Gusto ko talaga itong lahat ng nangyayari and I’m just really grateful na binibigyan nila ako ng opportunity na ganito.”
JM likewise gives his heart and soul into what he does and we can all agree that his brilliance contributes to the huge success of his projects. He’s up for any role that tests his acting mettle, such as his current task to play a cheating husband in the digital series “Linlang.”
But unlike his philandering onscreen character, JM is a true romantic in real life, one who is faithful and proud of the person who holds his heart, who, he revealed, is none other than internet personality Donnalyn Bartolome.
“Nanliligaw po,” was his honest but shy response when asked about their status.
