Vice Ganda’s selfless deeds revealed by family and friends in Magandang Buhay

Magandang Buhay, ABS-CBN’s longest-running morning talk show, has been helping Filipinos all over the country to see the beauty of life, catch good vibes, and become more inspired while giving them valuable lessons in the past seven years.

To commemorate its 7th anniversary, Magandang Buhay invited Vice Ganda, one of the program’s avid celebrity supporters since day one, to a special two-part episode.

In the second part, aired on May 30, he was with Nanay Rosario, his mother; Marivic, his sister; and Camille, his niece. They opened up about Camille’s recent rhinoplasty operation. Vice mentioned that Camille would only want to go under the knife if it’s a sponsored procedure since she doesn’t consider it a need. And like a fairy godmother, Vice granted his niece’s wish through the help of celebrity doctor Vicki Belo.

Camille feels like she’s a brand new person and she’s grateful to her family, especially her Tito Vice, for their unwavering support. Now she’s more confident and feeling “better and prettier.”

They went on to talk about a past rift in the Viceral home. The root of the conflict was said to be Marivic’s risk-taker attitude. Albeit they didn’t go into details, they hinted that the family, especially Vice, was disappointed, so much so that he let Marivic learn the hard way.

“Kasi kung aabalahin natin ang isa’t isa dahil sa sablay ng isa’t isa, hindi tayo makakalipad pare-pareho… Hindi, ikaw na lang ‘yan. Ikaw na lang makakagawa ng solusyon diyan. Ikaw lang ang makakasalba ng sarili mo. Kahit na anong tulong namin sa’yo, kung hindi mo isasalba ang sarili mo, walang mangyayari,“ expressed the It’s Showtime host, who described the reconciliation process as tough love.

Marivic echoed the same sentiment, saying the first and most important solution she thought of was to swallow her pride enough to admit fault, and then redeem herself through action.

During the episode, Marivic also demonstrated her recipe of “Sinigang Na Buntot Ng Baboy,” which is Vice’s favorite. From there, Nanay Rosario was asked about her reaction to Vice’s baby plans. She confessed that she regretted not being able to take care of her grandkids when they were young since she worked abroad. She is looking forward to having a grandchild with Vice, and hopes she’s still strong and capable of fulfilling her 'grandma duties' when the time comes.

Vice then got an amazing surprise when Kim Abellar, one of his closest friends, walked in the studio. He shared that Kim is not the type to bask in social media attention. She doesn’t want to be seen in his vlogs and she has private social media accounts. Thus, he was genuinely surprised when Kim granted an interview on national TV.

They shared how their friendship started through common friends. According to the besties, who fondly call each other “shishters,” they instantly hit it off, thanks to their ‘kalog’ personalities.

Kim brought a bottle of gourmet pusit for Vice. It’s her favorite, and it proves how simple his taste is despite being hailed a phenomenal star. There are some gifts, however, that can't be bought. If Kim could only buy time, she’d give it to Vice, as he rarely has the time to rest. “Bibilhin ko ‘yung oras para matulog ka,” she said.

To close the episode, Vice received special messages from her non-showbiz friends, who further revealed his good deeds and sacrifices. We’ve also met one of Vice’s scholars, whom he considers his first “anak-anakan.”

These are the people who’ve seen both the beautiful and ugly parts of him, and still genuinely love him for who he is.
