Ever since Magandang Buhay premiered four years ago, not only the guests were able to touch our hearts and inspire us through the anecdotes, realizations, and messages they had conveyed in their respective appearances, but its three gregarious hosts as well.
They’re not only able to delight us with their tight bond, hilarious banters, and thought-provoking #POTDs (“Pulot of the Day) at the end of every episode, but the portions of their personal lives they’re able to impart to us, especially on becoming moms in real life.
As we celebrate Mother’s Day, let’s find out how Momshie Karla Estrada, Momshie Jolina Magdangal-Escueta, and Momshie Melai Cantiveros-Francisco are able to give their children a wonderful life that they’ll surely do for the rest of their lives.
Momshie Karla Estrada
Apart from being the proud Mama of the King of Hearts Daniel Padilla, Karla Estrada wouldn’t be called the “Queen Mother” for nothing.
Being in the local entertainment scene for a very long time, we’ve witnessed how challenging her life has been in raising her four kids singlehandedly after calling it quits to their respective dads.
Thus, there’s definitely no doubt why there are moms out there who highly look up to her because of the strength, courage, and love that she exuded through the years.
In one of her birthday specials on the show, we’re able to take a glimpse of how she is as a mom to her broods through their poignant messages for her and how they behaved on that episode.
“Proud kami kay Mama dahil pinalaki niya kaming matatapang at magagaling magdesisyon kung ano ang dapat naming gawin at tinulungan niya kami sa lahat ng problems namin sa buhay. At even if we know na ang dami niyang pinagdaanan before, ginawa niya pa rin ‘yong best niya na tulungan kami sa many years as a single mom. Siya ‘yong [tumayong] mom and dad namin do’n sa bahay,” her third child Magui Planas said.
They might have different dads, but it’s truly amazing how Karla was able to bind them together and make them really, really close with one another. Her sons Daniel and JC are doing their duty in looking after and protecting their younger sisters Magui and Carmella, while her daughters have always been respectful and obedient to their older brothers.
The 45-year-old host-singer has seemingly instilled to them the value of respect and open communication as they’re still able to get along really well together in spite of the differences in their personalities and interests.
Momshie Jolina Magdangal
From being one of those teen stars we highly adored in the 90s, Momshie Jolina has indeed evolved into becoming an awesome and hands-on homemaker to her beloved family.
Three years after tying the knot with her husband Mark Escueta of OPM band Rivermaya, they were blessed with their handsome firstborn Pele Iñigo in 2014. And in 2018, their adorable daughter Vika Anaya was born.
Since then, aside from working, the 41-year-old TV personality’s life has revolved around them, doing her best to juggle the two things that are very much important to her. Whenever she’s not at work, she makes sure to spend quality time with them by simply doing random activities together, giving them cuddles, taking good care of them, and going out with them. She and Mark also bring their kids on trips here and abroad and even ensure to adjust their schedules so that they can accompany Pele in his school activities.
Both of them may be in show business, but they’ve apparently inculcated to their broods, especially to their firstborn, the value of simple living and being happy and contented with what are only given to them – just among the morals that every child should arguably develop as they grow up.
They revealed in one of their interviews in the program in as well that they’ve been saving up to acquire properties that they could pass on to Pele and future kids someday.
As she experienced taking good care of them singlehandedly while her spouse had to attend on a commitment abroad, Jolina had discovered how tough it is to be a “single parent”, and at the same time learned something about herself as a mom.
Momshie Melai Cantiveros
She may seem to always have something funny to inject in every conversation that never failed to make us laugh on-screen, but Melai takes motherhood seriously off-cam. As she gives us a glimpse of her life whenever she’s at home or anywhere with her daughters Amelia Lucille, 5, and Stella Rosalind, 3, and her husband Jason Francisco through her posts on IG, we can say that she’s indeed nailing it.
The 36-year-old host-comedienne-actress may admit in one of her media interviews that she’s not a prefect mother, but she’s doing her best to be a good one for them. Being a mother might be quite a challenge for her, but she’s enjoying every bit of it because it’s what she loves to do.
She and Jason may have their own share of ups and downs in their marriage, but they still make sure to be the best parents for them by providing things that they think would be the best for their two adorable offspring and would make them happy, as well as setting as a good example for them when it comes to showing respect, harnessing open communication, and being jolly.
Besides, it’s also amazing that at very young ages, Melai’s able to develop their faith by inculcating them the habit of praying and teaching them certain prayers.
Despite being busy with their jobs from opposite networks, they still see to it to make time for Mela and Stella by making sure to spend time with them by doing random activities at home, travelling with them whenever possible, or having dates with them. Thus, they’re able to develop close ties with one another, which is obvious in the endearing bond between Ate Mela and little sister Stella.
When asked if she has already imagined how the relationship of their two girls would be once they became adults, she jested that being actually frightened.
“As long as talagang habang lumalaki sila ando’n ‘yong guidance naming mag-asawa na magmahalan, ‘wag mag-awayan, mag-understanding, magrespetuhan sa isa’t isa, alam kong makakamit nila ang magandang buhay,” Melai enthused.
After all, “magandang buhay” is not only about having comfortable life, but having a joyful and harmonious relationship among the family and being able to achieve the things that each one aspires – and these are the most significant things that Momshie Karla, Momshie Jolina, and Momshie Melai are able to teach their beloved children that will or have certainly give them wonderful lives! Happy Mother’s Day, Momshies!
