Magandang Buhay Podcast Enrique Gil

After taking some time away from the limelight, the ‘King of the Gil’ shares what kept him busy in his personal life and updates fans on what to look forward to in his career. In the second part of the episode, he’s joined by his “I Am Not Big Bird” co-stars in a fun conversation about insecurities and their adventures filming in Thailand. Plus, momshie Regine Velasquez asks him about love!

Although we all missed Enrique and hoped for his earlier comeback, we’re happy for his decision to cherish his time with his family. He found solace in moments spent with them, as well as tending to personal matters during the pandemic, even though it delayed his return to showbiz. He believes that it's God’s will for him to maximize his bond with his family, especially now that his siblings are moving out and pursuing their own paths.

Apart from enjoying peaceful days with his family, he also got busy with his business ventures. Somehow, embracing a life beyond showbiz made him feel like an ordinary individual, which was a refreshing change for him. He swapped script readings for tending to plants and traded the spotlight for a serene atmosphere in their family home. For Enrique, it felt good living at a slower pace.

But his passion for acting and dedication to the industry never waned. That's why he’s making his comeback and venturing into producing via comedy film “I Am Not Big Bird.”

His co-stars Red Ollero, Nikko Natividad, and Pepe Herrera, who have become his new barkada, joined him in this episode. In keeping with the movie's theme, they candidly discussed their insecurities, from acne to body shape and facial features, and shared their journey of overcoming them.

The bunch rehashed their enjoyable time filming in Thailand, exchanging stories about the Thai phrases they learned and the delicious local cuisine they enjoyed. They also related their collaboration process, as most of them are working with each other for the first time.

When asked about love, Enrique expresses contentment with his status with Liza Soberano. He’s happy where they are in their careers, supporting each other’s career choices.

At the end of the episode, Enrique receives a touching message from a girl who holds a special place in his heart.
