Melai Cantiveros funny housemate to successful comedian-host

Her career is proof that dreams do come true. Although, looking back on her beginnings as a housemate on Pinoy Big Brother Double Up, there was never any doubt that she would become successful.

On October 2009, Melai Cantiveros entered the famous reality show. From then on, she quickly captured the hearts of Kapamilyas in the outside world with her funny antics and genuine personality. Naturally, her fellow housemates also enjoyed her goofy company. For Jason Francisco, however, it was a completely different story. Their tandem resulted in a new love team—MelaSon.

In the end, Melai joined the ranks of PBB Big Winners. But her television appearances did not stop there. She was casted in the 2010 teleserye Kokey at Ako which starred Toni Gonzaga and Vhong Navarro. Then there is the Precious Hearts Romances Presents Impostor which was led by Sam Milby and Maja Salvador.

MelaSon also earned some projects like their own reality show titled Melason In Love. It became such a success that two more seasons followed, “Melason: In Da City” and “Melason: Promdi Heart”. By 2011, the love team starred in their own movie “The Adventures of Pureza: Queen of the Riles”.

By December 2013, it was no surprise that Melai and Jason tied the knot. Currently, the couple has two daughters named Amelia and Stela. But even with the job of a wife and a mom, the Kapamilya comedian only continued to work hard and inspire others as a celebrity. From Mondays to Fridays, you can catch her alongside momshies Karla Estrada and Jolina Magdangal as the hosts on Magandang Buhay. And in the most recent season of PBB, she even took on the role of host with fellow Big Winner Kim Chiu.
