What else can be said about Xian Lim when he gave a giant bouquet of flowers to his girlfriend Kim Chiu last Valentine’s Day?
It shows his “towering” love for the woman he sees as his one and only
For sure, Xian Lim had expressed this kind of love numerous times to his on- and off-screen partner of over nine years, starting with the gig that started it all—My Binondo Girl. Kim Chiu had long been identified with another heartthrob, Gerald Anderson, with whom she gained much popularity as a love team.
But when the tandem eventually ended, Kim would fall into the loving arms of Xian, a dashing upstart who really had quite a promise even when he first appeared in a cameo role in Kim’s 2008 series My Girl with Gerald. With Xian’s impressive first lead role performance in Katorse and breakthrough film “My Cactus Heart,” he would become the top-of-mind lead actor when ABS-CBN conceptualized a Filipino-Chinese-themed romantic comedy, My Binondo Girl.
Their tandem took off from the series, and subsequently the KimXi pair topbilled the telseryes Ina, Kapatid, Anak, The Story of Us, and their latest topbiller Love Thy Woman, and five movies—“Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?,“ “Bride For Rent,“ “Past Tense,“ “Must Date the Playboy,“ “All You Need is Pag-Ibig.“ Through the years, the KimXi love team has drawn a huge following, and even recognized as a top showbiz pair.
And while their fans indeed had hoped that their kilig ship would become real, little did they realize that their dreams had been true for a long time.
Even as their tandem reached a hiatus at some point, they would still support one another in the sidelines, and even in public pronouncements. This was because, as Kim revealed on Tonight With Boy Abunda in 2018, she and Xian have long been a real-life couple. And Xian would confirm this, stating that he and Kim started dating as early as 2012, as their love team was on the rise.
In an interview with the Magandang Buhay momshies, Xian divulged their sweet moments spent together, calling each other a special name.

What makes their real off-cam relationship so strong through the years? Xian said in the Love Thy Woman press conference recently that both take their relationship “one step at a time”, and they would give each other space to grow separately as individuals.
As for marriage plans? They would maintain that they happy with what they have at the moment, and still discover more about each other together every day.
But definitely, in this continuing journey, Kim, as seen in this enthralling gallery, would always be Xian’s one and only “babe.”
