It is said that nothing would be impossible as long as you have unfaltering faith, and that was where former actress Jackie Forster held on in the past decade.
On her guesting in Magandang Buhay, she wasn’t able to hold back her emotions as she recounted how she got reconnected to one of her estranged sons, Kobe Paras, after being apart for 12 years.
According to her, it happened one morning of January 2018 when someone suddenly popped up on her inbox and told her that his son is asking for her number. That news drove her mind to instant shock and confusion, perplexed on why he wanted to talk with her all of a sudden and what they’re going to converse about.
But she set her hesitations and fears aside because she wouldn’t let this opportunity to just pass. She gave her number, then the phone rang after a few minutes – it was Kobe.

The longing mom saw herself crying and overwhelmed, which she compared to the same emotion she felt when she gave birth to them, upon hearing his first words to her “Hi, Ma. It’s Kobe.”
Almost three days after that hearty conversation, Jackie’s current husband booked her a flight en route to the US, where the young promising cager is based, for their much-anticipated reunion to finally happen. And the first thing they did? They embraced each other tightly for a few minutes and with him sleeping at her hotel room overnight.
Another meeting with Kobe came after a month, with Jackie bringing her younger kids Jared, Caleigh, and Yohan to California to meet and play with their kuya.
Her celebration of this year’s Mother’s Day was totally different as she was able to finally see his firstborn Andre, who treated her to a memorable coffee and movie date. Meanwhile, her second son brought her to the Manila stop of Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic Tour.
A day after the Mother’s Day celebration, they took her out to another #datenightwithmama. At 40, the stunning former actress looked her sons’ age, since she had Andre before she turned 17 and gave birth to Kobe after more than a year.
When her family had a vacation in Manila, she also turned up at the courtside to watch and personally cheer for Kobe on his games, which she wasn’t able to do before and just depended on the videos and write-ups.
On that same interview, she admitted currently being in the process of “learning” how is it to be a mother to her two big boys and savor every moment of it.
Jackie’s painful yet inspiring motherhood journey only proves the power of faith. As long as we believe and let God lead our lives, the once far-flung dreams we had will come true at the right time. We should only trust his process and timing because time could heal all wounds.
