Jackque Gonzaga has quickly gained fame thanks to her role as It’s Showtime’s very own Ate Girl. Twice she would strut up to the stage with a bowl of questions for the Ms Q & A contestants. For just a few moments, the spotlight would be on her, but it was enough for Vice Ganda and the rest of the madlang people to fall in love with her.
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. In this case, it fell straight down. Obviously, Jackque has her Momshie Lucy to thank. Standing side by side in these photos from the dancer’s Instagram account, she looks like the spitting image of her mom. The two ladies share the same bright smile that touches their eyes. Especially the healthy-looking hair. They also do most things together, like have a girls’ day out to treat themselves.
On Magandang Buhay, Ate Girl talked about how she became closer with her mama growing up because her father, Florencio, worked on as a musician on a cruise. He only came home every summer, once a year. Communication wasn’t easy either because technology back then wasn’t as advance as today’s. So, in every performance that Jackque had when she was a cheerleader and a member of a dance troupe, only her mother was present.

“Gagawin ko lahat basta kapit lang,” Jackque promised her mom. She kept her emotions short, but her mother had some important reminders. Lucy reminded her daughter to always keep God close to her heart and to always be thankful towards everyone. “Lalong-lalo na si Vice at ang Showtime family mo,” she emphasized. As a final request, she hoped that Jackque would finish her studies.
