We don’t always get along with them, and sometimes even take these people for granted. But at the end of the day, our family has our back no matter what happens.
Even though Anton Antenorcruz didn’t bag the title of Tawag Ng Tanghalan’s grand champion on It’s Showtime, he continues to aim for his dreams because he knows that he has unwavering fans. Not just in his singing journey, but in almost every other aspect of his life, these Instagram posts of their bonding moments show that his family is always in his heart.
Unfortunately, their little gang wasn’t always this harmonious. At 18 years old, Anton decided to move out of their house because he didn’t like being told what to do. The singer felt that his parents were too strict, so he decided to live on his own.
“Noong nawala siya, siyempre bilang ama, talagang mahirap,” his father, Bimbo Antenorcruz, shared on Magandang Buhay. He recounted how tough it was to not see his son, the eldest of three, for six whole years. “Bilang magulang na gusto namin mayakap si Paolo, hinahanap-hanap pa rin namin ‘yon,” he said while choking back tears.
There was an opportunity for them to meet again during Anton’s graduation. His father owned a sound system business and he tried to hire them for the event. “Tinaasan ko ‘yong price para hindi niya ko makuha,” said Bimbo. As much as he wanted to see his son again, he wasn’t sure if he could handle the reunion. Eventually, he gave them a reasonable price and was able to meet again. But it was a bittersweet memory. His heart broke at the end of the day because his son wasn’t going back home with him.

Fortunately, all of that is just a distant nightmare now. When Anton became a flight attendant, the first thing he did was start over with his family by promising to take them around the world. “Thank you kasi hindi kayo sumuko sa akin, kahit na ako ang pinakapasaway na anak,” he confessed to his father. The former TNT2 finalist was also thankful for MB because this gave him and his father an opportunity to have a heartfelt talk. “Kung pwede lang i-guest namin kayo araw-araw,” Melai even joked.
Bimbo also took this chance to express his own regrets. Because he was still young when their family started, he now realizes that he was immature and didn’t at least try to understand Anton’s feelings. This, however, doesn’t change the fact they their love for him is unconditional. “Hanggang sa ngayon, sinusuportahan ka namin kung ano ‘yong gusto mo maging plano sa buhay mo,” he finished. Now, their only problem is where the next destination would be for their family vacation.
