With her sweet and bubbly façade, who would not get smitten with the charming dancer-turned-television sensation Jackque Gyl Gonzaga, or more widely known as “Jaki”?
Attesting to that is It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda, who noticed her radiant glow while handing the bowl containing the questions for the Miss Q & A contestants. His impulsive affirmation towards her led to an impromptu kilig on-air exchange and gave birth to a very unlikely team-up, which always trends online and viewers highly anticipate every day.
Now that she has started to become a household name, have you ever wondered how her life was before she became our well-loved “Ate Girl”?
As the youngest and the only girl in their family, Jackque would make us assume that she grew up spoiled. But this idea was debunked by her Momshie Luisa in their interview on Magandang Buhay and revealed that she and her husband treated their kids equally.

The 23-year-old sweetheart has been inclined with dancing since she was a child, swaying to the popular dance crazes of her generation and joining a dance troupe in grade school.
Her burning passion for her craft intensified when she was in college, juggling her duties as a student and a member of their school’s cheerleading squad and dance crew at the same time. Aside from that, she also tried auditioning to the country’s premier dance ensemble G-Force and got accepted as trainee. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to pursue it.

It was a tough feat indeed, but she was able to manage everything and finished with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies. Although her parents initially frowned upon her decision to embark on a career in dancing, Jackque eventually persuaded them to support her all the way.
After graduating in 2015, she tried her luck on It’s Showtime and made it. She vowed to stay for only two years, but her unforeseen biggest break came last year, thanks to the Unkabogable Star, which led to her immense popularity and strings of gigs, such as her recurring appearance in the morning show Umagang Kay Ganda and guestings in some Kapamilya shows.
Jackque’s road to stardom might not be as dramatic as the journeys of other celebrities, but her perseverance, faith, and passion are an inspiration to many of us.
