Aljur Abrenica and Kylie Padilla are now enjoying their most important roles as doting and hands-on parents to their “Little Prince”—Alas Joaquin.
Kylie shared that their baby’s name is a combination of the names they dreamt of giving to their future son. Weighing 7.5 pounds and being 53 centimeters long when he was born last August 04, 2017, Alas was indeed a bouncing baby boy.
Unfortunately, Aljur was not present when Kylie gave birth. The actor recounted on Magandang Buhay that he was taping when the big day finally came. “Nakakatuwa kasi buong nine months kasama ko si Kylie,” he shared. Aljur did not do any work because he wanted to be there for her, not just physically but also emotionally. Until one day, while on set, he got a call from momshie Amor that Alas was finally here. “Hindi ko ma-explain ‘yung pakiramdam,” he tried to express his feelings at the time.

Surely, Aljur has made up for his absence. As his parents shared their photos after his much-awaited birth, it was obvious on their faces how thrilled, proud, and happy they are to finally have him in the outside world. Since then, their Instagram accounts have been bombarded with adorable photos and videos of him.
The happy couple is often spotted cuddling and talking to their little boy while taking their time off from work. They also never miss to catch the seven in the morning sunshine together even when Aljur comes home after long hours of exhausting tapings. They even took him to his first-ever beach getaway last month. Without a doubt, Kylie and Alas are in good hands.
Aljur is a proud product of his lola Alice’s teachings. He credits her for his personal values, from opening the doors for women to pagmamano for elders. This is why he feels it is important for his family to be part of his milestones. Their family is not perfect, but they thought him many things in life, most notably that when it comes to the people you love it does not matter who is right or wrong, “ang importante kung sino ‘yung mas nakakaintindi.”

Raising a child is really difficult, especially for a first time mom like Kylie. But she finds it more fulfilling and worth it because all the pain, weariness, and worries go away with just one smile from Alas. He’s been their primary source of unlimited inspiration and happiness. Don’t grow too fast, Baby Alas!
