His girlfriend needs no introduction. So now, let us meet the luckiest man in the universe!
Last March 18, a new set of confidently beautiful Filipinas vied for the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 titles and it was the representative of Albay who led the winners as she claimed the Miss Universe Philippines crown. Her name is Catriona Gray and by now we already know that this 24-year-old Filipino-Australian is the new Miss Universe 2018. No one must be prouder of her win that her beau, model and ASAP Coverboy Clint Bondad.
The couple initially met inside a small elevator in Baguio. He was doing a morning shoot, while hers was in the afternoon. He decided to introduce himself along with a handshake, but her reaction completely surprised him. “She was shaking my hand so violently,” Clint recounted on Magandang Buhay. She seemed really excited to meet him, but when the elevator doors opened, she just walked out and he was left wondering, “Who is that girl?”
Luckily, fate has planned for them to meet a second time at a casting for a commercial. Although, again, their encounter was not what Clint was expecting. “Hey, you’re the girl from Baguio, right? I think I know you,” he started off. Her response was, “Who are you?” because she did not remember him at all. It broke his heart, but this did not stop him from asking her to have some tea. He was hoping to keep it casual, “Para hindi siya matakot sa’kin,” he explained. She did accept the offer despite much preferring to have a meal instead of just tea. “Apparently I’m not as good in dating as I thought I was,” Clint thought in the end but he might have gotten ahead of himself there because it is seven years later and they are still together.

Even before Catriona was hailed as the Binibining Pilipinas Universe, Clint witnessed how dedicated his girlfriend was to become a beauty queen. In the past five years of their relationship he never failed to show that she is the queen’s number one supporter.
So, right after her Binibining Pilipinas win, Clint was quick to congratulate his “life partner” with an Instagram post that was captioned, “My Queen. My Everything.” In another post, he continued to gush over her achievements and the fact that Catriona is the first ever to win both the Miss World Philippines (2016) and Miss Universe Philippines (2018) titles. “I swear you are the most intelligent and most amazing woman I have ever met,” he confessed his admiration.
Clint was already championing her even before the Miss Universe coronation. “Words will never be enough to capture who you are… I know this is a huge day but this will literally just be the beginning,” he said in his heartfelt message. He also posted a series of videos from when the big announcement was made. “I seriously didn’t take any video till the final moment because I knew I wouldn’t need to film anything before that!” he boasted.
Catriona won the crown. Clint won Catriona’s heart. Check more of their winning couple photos here!
