Many of us have probably witnessed her stellar three-decade career in the local entertainment scene which began in 1988 through her inclusion in the singing group 14-K supervised by National Artist Ryan Cayabyab. Four years after, Jolina Magdangal finally had her breakthrough when she was discovered by talent manager and film and television director Johnny Manahan and bestowed her professional TV debut through the youth-oriented program Ang TV.
As a Star Magic artist who possessed a lot of promises and potential in her, she was able to score various roles in the past programs of ABS-CBN and even became a fashion icon because of her colorful and butterfly-studded style that was truly a trend among young girls during that era. While she appeared on another network for a number of years, we were really stoked when she finally came back to her true home in 2015.
She was immediately given a starring role in the afternoon drama Flordeliza, a chance to return in her hosting and performing stints in ASAP, and a one-of-a-kind experience to be a part of the pioneer batch of celebrity contestants of Your Face Sounds Familiar, wherein her lasting friendship with Karla Estrada and Melai Cantiveros, who would eventually her co-hosts in the morning show Magandang Buhay, all started.
Now that we’re celebrating their three successful and colorful years of bringing cheer and light to our homes every weekday morning, we have thought that it’s just timely for us to have a little trip down memory lane on the three moments that we witnessed how the #LifeGoals of Momshie Jolens were fulfilled through this special feature!
- Visiting her stunning and picturesque Casa Escueta
As the Magandang Buhay team raided the simple yet cozy abode of the Magdangal-Escueta fambam, we weren’t able only able to take a glimpse of the striking and dominantly-white exteriors and interiors of their 2-storey shelter, but also got to know the story behind it. While doing arts and crafts, Jolina and Mark willingly divulged to their guests, Momshie Karla and Momshie Melai, how hands-on they were in building their own house from finding the perfect property and conceptualizing the floor plan, up to shopping of furniture.

The couple also confessed that it took them a year and half before they were able to save and start the construction of their dream house. They imparted as well how they seem to be still in disbelief sometimes that they already have a home that they can call their own and how every part of it is a product of their hard-earned money.
- Revealing the gender of her baby live
Three months after announcing her pregnancy to her second child with musician-husband Mark Escueta, the 40-year-old host-actress-singer couldn’t hide her excitement on the gender reveal of their then-upcoming baby live on the show!
After tagging us along on their trip to the hospital for her regular check-up and ultrasound through a pre-recorded video, everyone got more thrilled as her co-hosts, as well as the audience members, were holding cotton candies in two different colors – sky blue for Momshie Karla and pink for Momshie Melai. As soon as Momshie Jolens popped the two large green balloons in her hands, pink smaller balloons escaped, signifying that it would be a girl.

This made her really emotional for she had been really vocal about her earnest prayer of having a baby girl since they already have a boy – their firstborn Pele Iñigo.
- Celebrating with BFF Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo
As part of her 40th birthday celebration in November last year, it wasn’t only her co-hosts and families who were present to greet her personally on her special day. Since one of her goals as a certified quadragenarian (or a person between 40 and 49) is to reconnect with her friends who she haven’t seen or talked to for a very long time. Thus, a gift for her, the Magandang Buhay team immediately helped her begin fulfilling that goal by inviting one of her best friends in-and-out of the industry, Ms. Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo.

On that special episode, they reminisced their showbiz journey, particularly in the 90s when they began working together in the Kapamilya programs Esperanza and Gimik. They also clarified the issue about their rumored rift after Jolens failed to show up on her wedding with Ryan Agoncillo in 2009 and had a fun bonding time together in between takes.
Looking forward on the next #LifeGoals you’re going to accomplish with your Magandang Buhay family, Momshie Jolina!
