Melai Cantiveeros has indeed gone a long way since winning the popular Pinoy Big Brother reality show that audiences have come to embrace. We all know that Melai came from humble beginnings and dreamed big just like many other hopefuls. Needless to say, that she has now made a quite a name for herself in showbiz, but has had her fair share of struggles too.
Born on April 6, 1988, the Kapamilya star grew up in the province of General Santos City, South Cotabato and lived a simple life. She was brought up by her loving parents Dionisio and Virginia Cantiveros, and is the third of four children. Being the only daughter, Melai already showed her funny and humorous side at such a young age.
She has always candidly spoken about how she never thought she would make it as a PBB contestant, and most of all, become the winner. “Wala sa isipan ko Tito Boy na matanggap ako dun sa audition, ang number ko e 24,249,” Melai once shared with award-winning TV Host Boy Abunda. Melai garnered a whopping 1,226,675 votes or 32.08% of the entire votes during her stay in PBB. She is currently one the network’s contract talents, has guested in several TV shows, and is one of the hosts of Magandang Buhay, which has been running for 3 years straight since aired in 2016.
Apart from having a successful career in television, Melai also found love at the PBB house and married her longtime love Jason Francisco. The couple is now happily married and have two daughters, Mela (5 years old) and Stela (2 years old).
Over the years, we’ve also seen her fashion sense transform from ‘Plain Jane’ to certified fashionista. Melai looks stunning in a beige long dress with its thigh-high slit which accentuate her toned body parts and curvy figure. Apart from the beige dress, the versatile host continues to flaunt her legs in a short bright yellow dress, and dark-blue gown with another thigh-high slit. She loves showing off her legs so much that she picked a casual-looking short jumpsuit with sleeves. Speaking of jumpsuits, one can tell that our girl has a fondness for them! She lives up to the ‘pretty in a pink’ semblance in a baby pink jumpsuit, looks chic in simple white one with a tiny black accent on the neckline, and was able to carry off another piece with white and light blue stripes. As for stripes, notice that the MB host likes to play around this certain pattern and mixes it up with some of her clothing. However, Melai takes the cake sporting classic attires, such as this emerald green knee-high ensemble, her dark silky red dress, white minimalistic get up, and her black velvety long-sleeve apparel. She also likes too spicen this up by adding frills in her clothing, like what she did with her black skirt and her beige knee-length dress. And who knew that she could look so delectable in a vava-voom long embellished gown.
This celeb can definitely get away with high fashion - so proud of you Melai!
