Her story featured in the two-part Mother’s Day special of Maalaala Mo Kaya indeed not only brought good vibes and pierced many hearts, but also inspired a lot of viewers. And the same happened in Daisy “Madam Inutz” Lopez’s Kumustahan with host Charo Santos-Concio, wherein they had a delightful and insightful conversation.
Charo commenced the interview by giddily admitting that she’s actually a fan of Madam Inutz and was able to watch her online selling videos during the height of the pandemic. However, despite the fame, Madam Inutz imparted that nothing much has changed and she’s truly grateful for the opportunities that come her way, which help her fund the continuous therapy of her mom who suffered from stroke.
Her popularity may have made her busier, which made it difficult for her to balance her responsibilities at work and as a single mom to her three children who live in Cavite together with her family, but she makes sure to have quality time with them whenever her hectic schedule permits.
Madam Inutz confessed that she still finds everything that’s happening in her life unbelievable, yet she’s very much thankful for and embraces every opportunity that comes her way, which also enables her to make her dream of providing a house and lot to her parents and kids come true.
When asked if she’s willing to enter showbiz and accept acting projects, she said that she’s definitely okay with it, but revealed that she’s more of a comedienne as she chooses to have a positive outlook in life amid the challenges she goes through.
With regards to the piece of advice she would want to convey to single moms like her, she encouraged them not to never let our problems get the best of us and to never lose hope for the sake of their children.
“Huwag sumuko sa buhay, huwag indahin ang problema tapos gawan po talaga natin ng paraan. Kasi wala naman po talagang ibang tutulong kundi sarili lang natin…Kailangan lang po talaga ay siyempre dasal, kasipagan, at pagtitiyaga. Huwag po tayo maging tamad,” she stated.
Then she continued, “Minsan po kasi sa dami ng problema, daing ka nang daing sa pamilya mo, kaibigan mo, barkada mo. Para sa akin ‘di makakatulong ‘yon. Tapos mag-isip ka, gumawa ka ng paraan.”
Just like what she did during the pandemic when their finances got gravely affected and she had to support the needs of her whole family and to continue the treatment of her ill mom. Many people may still not believe it, but she actually started her online ukay-ukay selling without any capital. Thus, she thought of initially selling the clothes that she and her siblings didn’t use anymore until she was able to earn.
Madam Inutz capped off the kumustahan by reminding everyone to enjoy and be dedicated to everything that we do in life in order to achieve the things we’ve dreaming of.
