Love knows no age for Danny and Lorna Cortezano as they fight for their relationship amid the judging stares of the world. They vow that nothing can come between them, not even their 34-year age gap and other relationship hurdles. Danny and Lorna’s story is featured in the Maalaala Mo Kaya “Grow Old with You” episode with Markus Patterson and Teresa Loyzaga breathing in life to their uplifting tale of love.
Inviting viewers to watch their episode, Teresa and Markus take on fun challenges and talk more about MMK “Grow Old with You” on Kapamilya Confessions.
Picking a piece of question on contentment versus success, for the Would You Rather Challenge, Teresa asserts, “I’m never satisfied easily, ‘yung standards ko mataas pero I achieve a lot.” Also, she would rather know when than how she’s going to die so she’d still have enough time to accomplish her wishes. “Can a job be a relationship?” the single mother asks instead of choosing between a perfect job and a perfect relationship.
While Teresa is confronted by serious questions, Markus coincidentally picks lighter ones. He says he’d rather shower and use the same clothes for a week than not take a bath at all, “idaan na lang sa perfume,” he quips. It isn’t difficult for Markus to choose between a high-paying job and a work that makes him happy, for his dream profession – being a pilot – pays well. Markus would rather be alone than be surrounded by annoying people because he is an independent guy.
Talking about their MMK episode where they play as lovers in a May-December relationship, Teresa and Markus mention that they accepted the project without even knowing the entire plot. Hence, they were a bit surprised when they learned about their roles. It helped, nonetheless, that Markus is a good friend of Teresa’s son Diego Loyzaga and that he is a constant face in the Loyzaga household. There hasn’t been any discomfort between them but they made sure to draw a line between work and their off-cam kulitan. “I need to remind him na I am not your tita now, I am Lorna. But, after each take nagtatawanan,” shares Teresa. The younger actor further describes the experience as fun and challenging. They also give props to Director Frasco Mortiz for his pointers and hands-on supervision.
Sharing a piece of her ‘love wisdom,’ Teresa believes that age doesn’t matter when it comes to relationships, as long as the love is genuinely felt and you are bold enough to fight for your choices like what Danny did. Markus agrees so, adding that there’s nothing fake about what Danny and Lorna feel for each other. “We could see just by the way he looks at her or holds her hands,” he further shares.
