People have their own ways of beating the feeling of being alone during the pandemic. Some try to keep busy with new hobbies or exercise to release endorphins. Others make new friends like Rise artist Jeremiah Lisbo who found a new company in his pet dog, Tomas.
Jeremiah introduced his three-month-old Doberman, Tomas, who’s been a big help in keeping his mental health in check during the pandemic. He said Tomas helps him to be more present, so there’s less time to overthink.
Besides keeping him sane, Tomas also teaches him to be more responsible. But he would admit that pet parenting is a challenge, sometimes a test of patience akin to taking care of a real child.
With Jeremiah is Lotlot de Leon, who played his mother in a recent Maalaala Mo Kaya episode featuring the story of ex-Pinoy Big Brother housemate Ralph Malubinas. The seasoned actress introduced her Yorkshire Terrier named Peanut, who is starting to gain fans on Instagram.
While Tomas is quite aggressive, Peanut is behave and friendly to the point of being “easy to get!” Lotlot agreed that pet parenting could be an antidote to anxiety. Like Tomas to Jeremiah, Peanut is also her constant buddy especially when she’s working out or having her morning coffee at home.
