Jane de Leon expresses appreciation for MMK “Doctor Hero” co-stars Arjo Atayde and Sylvia Sanchez

After a series of uncertainties brought about by the pandemic, Jane de Leon still continues to soar high as ABS-CBN just confirmed the flight of “Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series” slated in 2021.

Finally, Jane reaps the fruit of her loyalty and perseverance. But how did she manage to stay positive amid all the challenges and uncertainties? She quotes a bible verse about prayer as a potent weapon against anxiety. She added that having someone to talk to is a big help in keeping a hopeful attitude.

Straight from her contract signing and that big announcement, Jane expressed joy and gratitude in this guesting for Kapamilya Chat. She also talked about starring in Maalaala Mo Kaya’s first new episode since the pandemic.

She portrays Doctor Lerma Iglesia in the MMK “Doctor Hero” episode, alongside Arjo Atayde who breathes life to the story of Doctor Israel Bactol, who died while taking on his duties during the pandemic.

“MMK is MMK,” said Jane, adding that drama remains her niche. She’s also grateful for the opportunity to portray such an inspiring role in MMK’s special two-part episode. It’s her first time playing a doctor.

While the first part highlighted Israel’s highs and lows with the family, the second part airing tomorrow, December 5, will revolve around Israel and Lerma’s love story.

On working with Arjo, she revealed, “He’s a nice person, napaka-professional na tao. Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Gusto kitang makatrabaho na kontrabida ka.’ Kasi forte niya ‘yun, eh.” Of course, Arjo got the acting genes from mom Sylvia Sanchez, whose name is listed down on Jane’s acting bucket list. She added that Sylvia loves to spoil their tummies on the set.

Jane is just happy to be back at work after months of staying at home. She was admittedly challenged at first, “kinalawang,” as she described it, but she eventually got back on track and coped with the changes in the taping bubble.
