Almost a year after it was first aired in September 2019, the highly talked about “Lipstick” episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya is having its comeback on television this Saturday, August 29. And to invite us to watch it, one of its stars Ina Raymundo graced Kapamilya Chat on Friday, August 28.
The virtual interview commenced with the actress describing to the viewers how hectic yet happy her life has been as a hands-on mom to her four kids throughout the entire community quarantine, especially now that all of them are currently under distance learning. And for those full-time moms who are having a hard time during this pandemic, she advised them to strengthen their faith and have a routine for them to avoid feeling too exhausted or overwhelmed.
Moving on to the upcoming re-airing of the MMK episode she starred in alongside Barbie Imperial, she related that it didn’t totally surprise her that it was among the episodes chosen to be broadcast again this quarantine because it’s arguably one of the best. It can be recalled that she played the role of a loathsome mom who disowned her daughter Maria (Barbie) and let her live a terrible life.
“Very professional siya. She’s so young, she really knows what she’s doing, very assertive siya. Alam niya ‘yong gagawin niya, ‘yong mga shots niya. Tapos very close siya kay Direk Myla [Ajero-Gaite]. Si Direk Myla, I enjoyed working with her so much. Tinutukan niya ako sa gusto niyang pag-arte, [at] meron pa nga siyang in-advise na don’t look at Maria or kay Barbie,” she related when asked regarding her working experience with Barbie and Direk Myla.
She then went on to praise how meticulous the director was in her performance and imparted the challenge she encountered while filming and the lesson she learned from the episode.
Ina then proceeded on answering some of the random questions sent in by the netizens, such as the 5 most handsome actor for her and the top 3 actresses she admire the most. After naming Piolo Pascual, Richard Gomez, and Marco Gumabao as her first three, she chose Enrique Gil and John Lloyd Cruz among the list given by the host. Meanwhile, she picked Maricel Soriano, Julia Barretto, Assunta De Rossi, and Bela Padilla for the actresses she’s fond of.
Just like many of us, the 44-year-old actress has also become a certified “plantita”, or someone who’s into gardening or taking care of plants, this quarantine.
“Even before the pandemic, mahilig ako sa halaman. Pero hindi ako ‘yong nag-aalaga kasi wala akong green thumb. As in kabaligtaran ako, red ata ‘yong sa’kin kasi madalas nangyayari kapag hinahawakan ko ‘yong dahon ng halaman, bigla nal ang siyang nagwi-wither. Feeling ko masyadong mainit ‘yong kamay ko yata,” she heartily related. She then went on to show us some of the plants inside their house, including a money plant which she calls “baby”, and how fond of plants her daughter Erika also is. Despite admitting that she’s not good in growing plants, Ina still gave a few tips on how to take good care of them.
They then proceeded on doing a game, wherein Ina had to simply answer questions with either “yes” or “no” and supply reasons behind those responses.
