Like all romantic relationships, the road that these University of the Philippines students went through as a couple was rough and painstaking, with the MMK episode depicting how their life was under one roof with their emotional highs and lows. While they were happy sharing a love that was genuine, Tina would also toil and suffer in handling the weight of Roanne’s difficulties suffering from depression and anxiety attacks. It didn’t take long before Tina would give up, after Roanne’s condition was too much to bear.
But this temporary separation bore fruit—with Tina having to concentrate on her well-being as well while prioritizing and loving herself first while Roanne having been more serious and faithful in her path to recovery from her mental health issues. After being better off individually, they would finally get that second chance at love—through an unexpected opportunity: participating in a drinking video challenge that went viral on social media. This led to their reconciliation, forgiveness, and eventual understanding of each other’s faults and vows of selfless acceptance. They would rekindle a love so true even at the very beginning and share their story to inspire people who avoid outing themselves for fear of reprisal and scrutiny and face difficulties and ordeals in dealing with mental health problems.
Tina and Roanne, who are currently social media influencers, have actually used the platform to offer inspiration, raise awareness about those relevant issues, and share their life as a couple. The couple post fun vlogs in their YouTube account, including one that showed their respective families meeting each other for the first time, and another with their families spending their first Christmas together. They also discuss the pressing issues about gender equality and preserving mental health, while also showing their sweetness and intimacy through couple challenges.
Currently, Tina and Roanne both juggle their respective professional and academic work with the goal of finishing their masteral degrees at UP Diliman very soon. The two also reached important milestones together, such as putting up their own business.
