“Just keep on fighting.”
That’s what Maalaala Mo Kaya letter sender Airalyn Dimapilis kept on reiterating on the first-ever blog she and long-time boyfriend Jason Carale uploaded on their YouTube channel recently, as they talked about their relationship and how their inspiring and kilig love story made it to the long-running drama anthology.
Titled “Tren”, last Saturday’s (February 22) episode gave us a glimpse of how their romance began, was challenged, tore apart, and was restored in the past eight years of being a couple. Although it was not the first time that we saw their story on television, since it was already featured in the “LSS” segment of ASAP in 2017, we still couldn’t help but be thrilled, especially that it was the lovely tandem of Joshua Garcia and Janella Salvador who portrayed them.
Based on their narration, it all started when Aira joined their university’s pep squad, in which Jason was already a part of. He confessed being struck by love at first sight upon laying his eyes on her, as well as his other male squad mates, because of her unmistakable beauty and charisma. Even though his feelings towards her have been strong, he wasn’t able to muster enough courage neither to tell her about it nor to woo her. Nonetheless, it was still possible for romance to bloom between them because unbeknownst to him, she felt the same way for him too!
Their relationship sailed smoothly for three years, until a terrible challenge got on their way that ensued to their breakup. Aira had an affair with another guy, which eventually ended upon realizing that she was still in love with him. As Jason refused to get back to her, she did everything to win him back and she succeeded.
As they’re about to mark their eighth anniversary this year, Aira and Jason admitted on their vlog that they almost called it quits anew last 2019 after they underwent another major challenge tested their bond.
Stay strong and in love, Jason and Aira!
