Giving life to a GL (Girls’ Love) story for the next episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya, Kapamilya actresses Miles Ocampo and Michelle Vito gained so much wisdom about matters of the heart.
Miles and Michelle portray Sarah Garcia and Tanch Lobete, respectively, both flight attendants and YouTube content creators. Even before the release of the official trailer, which gained close to a million views in just a day, Tanch and Sarah’s fans already showed support and excitement.
In this episode of Kapamilya Chat, Miles and Michelle expressed gratitude for being part of MMK’s 30th anniversary. Miles, a certified MMK baby, thanks the longest-running drama anthology for being with her as she transitioned from child star to a drama actress. Michelle is extra thankful that of all artists, MMK considered her for this special episode.
When handed out the script, Michelle wondered who’s going to be her partner, worried about the ‘kilig’ scenes. “Kaya ko ba ‘tong gawin? Kaya ko bang bigyan ng justice ‘yung story nila? Kasi ang hirap, eh, first time kong gagawin ‘yung ganitong story. Lahat bago sa akin.” But the second thoughts passed when told that she’s working with Miles, her friend since Luv U days.
Also in the episode is Simon Ibarra, seen proposing to Michelle’s character in the trailer. It didn’t feel awkward at all since they’ve already worked in Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, also Simon is a good friend of Michelle’s beau Enzo Pineda. She said the actor was a real gentleman, “Nagpapaalam siya kung pwede bang gawin itong eksena na ‘to, ano ba ‘yung mga limitations ko.”
Miles, on the other hand, was excited than scared. She knew she was with a good team, her friend Michelle, and Director Raz Dela Torre whom she trusts so well. She added that Direk Raz was very hands-on all throughout, thus she was game to do anything the role required.
Miles isn’t one to take all the credit, saying a good scene is a product of rapport and generosity among co-actors. And she’s thankful that her co-artists in MMK “Team TaRah” are very giving.
In terms of preparation, Miles and Michelle were able to talk with the letter senders and watch their YouTube vlogs. They said Tanch and Sarah aka TaRah’s videos helped them learn the characters’ nuances and relationship.
Michelle was overthinking in the beginning, wondering how TaRah is in real life. Then the couple told her that they just act like normal people.
Miles also asked them the ‘whys’ and TaRah’s answer was simple: they did and survived everything for love. It reminded her that a relationship only works when the love and sacrifice come from both sides.
She admires how the pair took risks for love. “Sobrang taas ng respeto ko na grabe ‘yung tinalon nila for each other para lang mapatunayan na love nila ang isa’t isa.”
Talking more about the lessons, Michelle maintained that self-love is the first step to finding true love with another person, and that love can’t be forced or dictated. “Walang pinipili ang pagmamahal. Hindi mo masasabi kung ano ‘yung gusto mo, anong type. May ibibigay sa’yo na para sa’yo talaga dapat.”
While Tanch and Sarah share bits of their relationship online, their story in MMK is something their fans are yet to discover. That’s why their supporters have so much to look forward to in MMK “Team TaRah” this coming Saturday, October 22 at 8:30 PM, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
