As we celebrate the most special and beloved men in our lives – our fathers and those people we consider as one – in the forthcoming 20th of June, Maalaala Mo Kaya is about to serve us with an inspiring and touching two-part Father’s Day Special from which many of us can surely relate to and learn from.
Tagged as “#MMKFinding Papa,” it will feature the story of a strong and hardworking young woman named Jai and her lifelong search for her real father Jericho. Based on the trailer, she didn’t have any wish in life other than to be reunited with her estranged dad even though it already took her so many years to be able to find him. Instead of getting discouraged, she persistently did everything until the longtime desire of her heart finally came true.
However, their journey towards fully reconnecting with one another wouldn’t be easy as Jericho turned out to be an addict. Not capable of fulfilling his responsibility as a father, it was Jai who took good care of him instead until he apparently recovered and became sober.
But will this be for good? Or is their bond going to be challenged again? Well, that’s for us to find out so you better not miss this 2-part special!
Before we get to witness their sure-fire dramatic performances, both Maris and Cris teased us on what we could expect in the upcoming episodes by posting behind-the-scenes shots on their respective Instagram accounts.
The veteran actor posted a selfie with Maris, while the young actress uploaded a photo of her riding a bike with a delivery bag on its back. On the other hand, the long-running drama anthology also shared short clips taken from the first part of this two-part Father’s Day presentation, written by Jaymar S. Castro and directed by Jerome Pobocan.
