Sobrang Cheesy! JC Alcantara cooks a recipe learned from Tony Labrusca

“Hindi ko sure kung tama ‘to!”

We rarely see young men like JC Alcantara whip up some yummies in the kitchen, but in this edition of Kapamilya Chat, we are blessed with the sight of a ‘pogi’ guy taking on a culinary “experiment.”

Just a little disclaimer, it is JC’s first time cooking this recipe he learned from Hello, Stranger co-star Tony Labrusca, so just keep your inner food critique mellow.

“Paborito daw niya ‘to at nung natikman ko, sobrang sarap! One time, nagluto siya nito, sabi ko ‘Ang sarap naman! Kailangan kong malaman ingredients nito,’” he said of Tony’s specialty.

Just to be sure, he tried to contact him for help but to no avail. Cooking from memory, he started with boiling the macaroni pasta, for five minutes or until tender. Then, he drained the pasta. In a clean bowl, he mixed the pasta, fresh milk and cheese.

In the middle of blending all the ingredients, JC realized he bought the wrong kind of cheese. He used cheddar instead of cheese melt. Luckily, the dish ended up just as tasty!  

Regardless of the outcome, what matters is the food was seasoned with love! 

JC was introduced as a member of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Circle in 2018 and is now part of Star Cinema’s Rise Artist Studio. He first gained attention when he played Bogs in the hit primetime drama Halik in 2019. Last year, he got his biggest break by playing opposite Tony Labrusca in the BL (Boys’ Love) series Hello, Stranger which is set for a movie sequel this 2021.
