Yam Concepcion, now that celebrated actress keeping viewers drawn to her powerful onscreen portrayals just like her current role in Love Thy Woman as Dana Wong, revealed an endearing fact that has kept her personal life quite blissful.
In a virtual chat on “Love Thy Chika” with host Ruffa Gutierrez on Sunday, July 5, Yam had only one word to describe her relationship with her longtime boyfriend, Miguel CuUnjieng.
“Unbreakable.”
That came about, she said, even if they have a long distance relationship, with Miguel currently living and working in the United States as a sustainability consultant.
According to her, it took years to build that kind of trust they share, owing that to their constant communication while they don’t see each other face to face most of the time. She added that even if they share that LDR for five years now, their relationship has been stronger even with such a difficult setup.
Asked if she would theoretically say yes if Miguel would propose to her at this very moment and leave showbiz, Yam said she would definitely say yes but on the matter about leaving showbiz, she stressed that if Miguel really loves her, she would not give her that choice. Yam said being an actress is a passion she would not let go easily.
Yam also said Miguel is not the jealous type who would check on her every now and then, emphasizing he is “secure.” And, she also noted that even if they are away from each other, she has remained “loyal” and expresses her love fully to the extent of what she can realistically offer.
Yam also revealed her other passion, which is music, having played the drums for an all-girls band when she was in high school, and an alternative rock band when she was in college. She disclosed she was first discovered as an actress when she starred in a music video of a band mate.
She also said her portrayal of Jade in the teleserye Halik was her happiest, defining moment in her career, given how it catapulted her to bigger fame and recognition, among which is winning Best Actress in the 50th Guillermo Mendoza Box Office Entertainment Awards last year.
