When fighting for her daughter’s rightful place, Lucy (Eula Valdes) will never ever raise the white flag. The offender who would dare hurt her Dana (Yam Concepcion) better have thick skin, for Lucy is definitely generous with slaps and biting insults that will break a fragile soul to pieces. Then, here comes Kai (Sunshine Cruz), equally feisty and willing to give a fight for her Jia (Kim Chiu). So when these two mothers collide, expect the most intense catfights and scathing exchange of lines like the ones included in this Toplist from Love Thy Woman.
Let the showdown begin with this totally entertaining exchange between the two females. Lucy and Kai are experts in giving old-fashioned melodramatic dialogues a modern twist. There was a scene where Lucy greeted Kai with, “Pinapaasim mo naman ang umaga,” when they bumped into each other in the office. The quick-witted Kai refused to veer away and replied with, “Kung alam ko lang na makakasalubong kita, sana nagdala ako ng ensaladang ampalaya.”
There was a time when Kai confronted Lucy for terrorizing her daughter in the office, and for doing everything in her power to obstruct Jia’s promotion. Of course, Lucy did not own up to these allegations. She instead lectured her nemesis about how things are just a matter of perspective. Lucy said Kai would always perceive her as evil, if that’s how she wanted things to appear.
When Lucy found out that her husband slept at Kai’s house, we were gifted with one of the most scathing dialogues from a television series. The actresses’ sterling performances and snappy exchange added more to this scene’s appeal, and the result was nothing short of iconic.
On top of that, Lucy wouldn’t want to see her husband Adam (Christopher de Leon) treating his second family with care and importance. So when Adam volunteered to shoulder Jia’s ransom money amounting to a whopping one million pesos, another conflict flared. What started in a tame ‘parinigan’ ended in a scandalous altercation.
Enough of the poised encounters, we end this Kapamilya Toplist with a full-on squabble stuffed with tons of hair-pulling, slaps, and insulting words that ensued when Lucy discovered Jia’s affair with her son-in-law. Lucy’s rage was more than enough to burn Kai and Jia for their offense but, of course, she isn’t the type that easily gets satisfied. So, more intense scenes are surely coming up on Love Thy Woman on Kapamilya Channel.
