As her character Amanda del Mundo in Love Thy Woman has to fight for the acceptance and affection of Adam Wong (Christopher de Leon) for their alleged love child Gab (Karl Gabriel), its actress Ruffa Gutierrez doesn’t have to do so in real life for she’s the one and only woman in the heart of her non-showbiz French-Israeli boyfriend Jordan Mouyal.
They’ve been together for six years now and they first publicly appeared as a couple in 2014 during the actress’ 40th birthday celebration that was attended by her family, relatives, and friends. When the now-defunct showbiz-oriented talk show The Buzz interviewed her daughters Lorin and Venice, both of them expressed how much they admire the new man in their mom’s life and wished nothing but happiness and true love for her.
In her interview in Magandang Buhay in 2016, the 46-year-old actress enthusiastically talked about her love life, recounting to the momshie-hosts and viewers how their paths crossed years ago when she least expected it. They met in one of her get-togethers with her friends and since then, their conversations went non-stop until Jordan asked her to be his girlfriend (despite already assuming that they’re already an item when they began talking to each other consistently).
They may have differences in culture and have a huge age gap, but Ruffa’s thankful that Jordan, who’s an IT (information technology) engineer and owns an IT company, is able to put up with her and her mom Annabelle Rama, unlike the guys she used to be in a relationship with in the past.
As the King of Talk asked her to describe her boyfriend during her guesting on Tonight With Boy Abunda months ago, Ruffa simply said that he’s “lalaki” or “a man”.
“Lalaking-lalaki. ‘Yong ‘di masyadong madaldal, ‘di mahilig sa spotlight, marunong rumespeto kahit tinatarayan na ng nanay ko. Quiet lang siya. ‘Yong iba kasi sumasagot, ang dami pang tinatanong, siya hindi. That’s why, sabi ko, “Aba, okay ‘tong guy na ‘to kasi a lot of people, especially the showbiz artistas, would run away, right? Siyempre, ‘pag mommy ko na nagpa-interview, aba, lahat sila takot, tumatakbo. Ito, wala siyang paki. Not in the sense na wala siyang respeto, but in the sense na he understands,” she imparted.
In the latest episode of her Online Kapamilya Shows’ ”Love Thy Chika,” Ruffa was interviewed by her younger brother Raymond. She was quizzed regarding her romantic relationships through the years. Being under the limelight and having a domineering yet awesome mom like Ms. Annabelle Rama have definitely made her love life controversial despite wanting to keep it out of the public eye.
“Siguro, I always like my private life private kung kaya ko, kasi ang nagbubuking lang naman lagi, si mommy e. Siya lang naman lagi nagbubuking. Nagugulat na lang ako. Hanggang ngayon siguro, I like to keep my private life private,” she said.
Ruffa may not have posted pictures of them together on Instagram in the past months, perhaps because of the pandemic, but their photos we collated in this gallery are proofs of how much in love they are with one another. He’s been her constant arm candy in every event that she attended, her travel buddy in and out of the country, and even her workout companion.
Find out if her character Amanda will achieve that same kind of love by watching Love Thy Woman weekdays on Kapamilya Channel.
