Loisa Andalio’s remarkable rise as a Kapamilya leading lady

With her stunning beauty and impressive versatility as an artist, there’s definitely no wonder why Loisa Andalio is among the most well-loved personalities of her generation. And eight years since she began her showbiz journey, she’s finally given the opportunity to headline a teleserye for the first-time through the upcoming romance-comedy drama Love In 40 Days.

But before we get to see her take on her first-ever lead role in a series, let’s look back on some of Loisa’s most remarkable portrayals through the years in this Kapamilya Spotlight feature!

Like some of the Kapamilya artists we look up to at present, her ticket to the local entertainment scene was through her stint in Pinoy Big Brother All In in 2014 as the “Talented Darling of Parañaque City.” She may have fallen short in her bid to becoming part of the Big 4, but she got blessed with a slew of projects upon coming out of the PBB house.

She had her acting debut via the 2015 afternoon soap opera Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita, wherein she charmed us as Beatriz. She then had her first-ever Ipaglaban Mo gig through the “Kapalit ng Pag-ibig” episode, in which she played Olivia, a young woman who seeks justice for her beau’s death, portrayed by Yves Flores, after getting killed by her own father and brother.

In 2016, she once again got paired with Yves in the daytime series Be My Lady as she took on the role of Margaret. Loisa was able to show her versatility as an actress through the “Sanib” episode of Ipaglaban Mo, as she played Lanie, a lady allegedly possessed by a demon. She also delighted us with her appearances in Wansapanataym Presents Candy’s Crush as the admirable titular character and in the “Karnabal” episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya as the wife of Yves’ character.

The year 2017 was indeed a busy one for her as she starred not just in one, but two Kapamilya series. The first one was My Dear Heart, wherein she portrayed Agatha, the younger sister of Bela Padilla’s character Clara. It was succeeded by The Good Son, which served as her reunion project with Joshua Garcia as she took on the role of his love interest, Hazel.

After a year, she headlined, opposite reel-and-real life sweetheart Ronnie Alonte, another Wansapantaym narrative titled “Gelli In A Bottle” as the titular character. The 23-year-old actress was then able to showcase her dramatic prowess in her stints in the “Katiwala” episode of Ipaglaban Mo and in the “Sementeryo” episode of MMK.

Loisa and Ronnie then topbilled the “Jersey” episode of MMK in 2019, which chronicled the inspiring life story of then fast-rising varsity basketball player Paul Desiderio. She portrayed his then-girlfriend, UAAP courtside reporter Jean Agatha Uvero. They were also part of the action-drama series The General’s Daughter, wherein she was tapped to play Claire, the younger sister of JC De Vera’s character Maj. Ethan del Fierro.

Aside from these Kapamilya shows, Loisa also starred in three iWantTFC originals series, namely, “Past, Present, Perfect? (2019), “Unloving U” (2021), and “The Goodbye Girl” (2022), with boyfriend Ronnie Alonte as her leading man in the latter two.

Are you excited as us to see Loisa take on the role of the ever-palaban Jane Marasigan? Well, you better not miss an episode of Love In 40 Days once it begins on May 30, weeknights at 10PM on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z Channel 11, iWantTFC, TFC.
