After years of waiting, Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte are finally having their first-ever teleserye lead role through the forthcoming paranormal romance-comedy series Love In 40 Days!
But aside from this, there are actually more exciting reasons why you should not "ghost" nor miss it once it premieres this May 30. Read on for you to find out!
Interesting, unique narrative
First and foremost, what makes the series exciting is its genre – paranormal romance-comedy drama.
Over the years, we've probably not seen yet a teleserye in this interesting fusion of genres. We may have seen a number of paranormal series, but with a romance-comedy theme? Maybe not yet.
Based on the trailer, Love In 40 Days will follow the journey of a workaholic career-woman named Jane Marasigan (Loisa) here on earth going to the afterlife after figuring in a vehicular accident. While it is still being decided whether she's going to heaven or to hell, she has to stay at the imaginary transitory place called Evergreen Mansion for 40 days.
However, the place is in danger of vanishing as the actual building where it is situated will be turned into a restobar by businessman Edward (Ronnie). Thus, in order to save Evergreen, Jane will befriend Edward, whose third-eye got opened after being hit on the head. And their blossoming friendship is teased to eventually lead to romance.
LoiNie’s first-ever lead role in a teleserye
We may have seen them in a number of movie and TV projects in the past seven years that they've been together on-and-off-cam, but Love In 40 Days is LoiNie's first-ever lead role in a teleserye.
This is indeed something that's special not only for the couple, but to their throngs of fans as well who have been waiting for them to finally be on the top-bill.
Thus, get ready to be filled with genuine kilig as Loisa and Ronnie dominate our primetime! In everything that we've been going through nowadays, a dose of kilig and comedy could definitely do wonders to us.
Fresh combination of new, seasoned, and veteran talents
LoiNie will be joined by an ensemble of talented actors that are going to put different flavors and level of excitement to this refreshing narrative.
Among the new breeds of talents who take part in this project are Renshi de Guzman, Josh de Guzman, Zabel Lamberth, Chie Filomeno, Andi Abaya, Kobie Brown, Vaughn Piczon, Benedix Ramos, and Raven Molina.
Seasoned actors Janice de Belen, Lotlot de Leon, Mylene Dizon, William Lorenzo, Ana Abad Santos, Bart Guingona, Maria Isabel Lopez, Trina Legaspi, and Ahron Villena are going to astound us anew with their thespic performances.
Leo Martinez’s ABS-CBN comeback
Veteran actor Leo Martinez is also making a return in ABS-CBN as he portrays the significant role of Patricio Guzman, the general manager of Evergreen Mansion.
In his five decades in the local entertainment scene, Philippine film icon has appeared in several Kapamilya programs, such as Tanging Yaman (2010), Toda Max (2012), Nathaniel (2015), Sana Dalawa Ang Puso (2018), and Maalaala Mo Kaya (2019).
His last Kapamilya stint was in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano in 2019, wherein he made us despise him as the egoistical and corrupt Barangay Captain Bartolome "Kap Bart" Bulaan, who served as one of the antagonists of Lola Flora (Susan Roces).
Arguably, many viewers are looking forward to see if we're going to love or hate him in his newest role.
It’s a Manny Q. Palo and Jojo Saguin masterpiece
Aside from the truly interesting narrative and the talented ensemble cast, what makes this upcoming series worthy to watch out for are its brilliant directors Manny Q. Palo and Jojo Saguin.
Both of them have been in the industry for many years now and have a number of notable projects under their belts.
Among the remarkable works of Direk Manny are Iisa Pa Lamang (2008), Kambal Sa Uma (2009), Your Song Presents: Under Age (2009), Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin (2011), Ikaw Lamang (2014) and The Good Son” (2017).
Meanwhile, Direk Jojo is one of the significant figures behind the successful series Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo (2012), Ina, Kapatid, Anak (2012), On The Wings Of Love (2015), My Dear Heart (2017), La Vida Lena (2021), and Marry Me, Marry You (2021).
We may have already seen their caliber as directors, but we're still excited on how they're going to maneuver the narrative or put refreshing twists to Love In 40 Days.
Watch out for ‘Love In 40 Days' pilot episode this coming May 30, 10PM, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z Channel and iWantTFC.
