Even the internet does not hold every information you need. For instance, Jake Cuenca has been an actor for years, but there are still some fun facts about him that only he knows. So, we had him spill the beans by answering your biggest questions!
There are many Cuencas in the world. If you happen to run by one here in the Philippines, do not be so quick to assume that they are related to Jake. Most of his family live in Spain, apart from his father’s brother and his own brother and sister. So, no he is not related to any Enrico Cuenca.
The actor has a total of 24 sentimental tattoos. The latest one, a box with the word “breathe” inside, is near his right wrist. This one in particular was inspired by a recent play he did. “Breathe” was his first line. The box was his home and would constantly remind himself before each performance to help with his nervousness. The moment he stood on stage, all he would focus on is his leading lady and his home.
Before portraying Los Bastardos’ Isagani, fans would recall that he was Rocco from The Blood Sisters. He literally went from being a psycho to the leading man which makes him feel thankful towards the network. Jake is not pigeonholed into a specific character and it is all because ABS-CBN believes that he can be both an antagonist and protagonist.
Part of the reason they trust him must be because of his dedication to preparing for a role. Jake has been a vegetarian for two years, but because Isagani is the eldest and he has four other brothers, he had to gain weight and look the biggest. He turned to fish for the necessary protein. He still considers himself a vegetarian, but if a project required him to become more buff, he is willing to include fish into his meals. “For me, it’s not a diet anymore, it’s more like a lifestyle,” he described.
You should also know that Jake is not married. Yet, he is seeing someone. “You can see it on Instagram,” he added. There is so much more to Jake that you can’t just Google. So, check out this interview to know more about him!
