This Saturday, August 12, Little Big Shots, the variety show that is larger than life, is finally coming to the Philippines! Every week, young Filipino kids will perform jaw-dropping and amazing performances that will prove that talent really knows no age. Before we get to know these tiny dancers, small singers, mini martial arts experts and kiddie wonders, let us focus the spotlight first on Balang and Elha Nympha, the two talented Filipino kids who got featured in the international editions of “Little Big Shots,” and showed that the Pinoy talent is truly world-class.
John Philip Bughaw, or more popularly known as Balang, became an online sensation even at a very young age because of his various dance covers of “Sorry” and “Bang Bang.” He started dancing at the age of 4. Because of his viral videos, Ellen DeGeneres, popular American television host and one of the executive producers of “Little Big Shots” in the United States, invited him over to her talk show four times already to perform live.
Balang also got invited to perform for the UK edition of Little Big Shots, hosted by Dawn French. He entertained the English crowd with his contagious laugh and irresistible charm, Dawn even called him a “big sunshine machine.” He also showed off some of his Zumba moves and even did a split, which wowed the studio audience.
Elha Nympha became famous in the Philippines after winning the second season of “The Voice Kids.” She was a member of Kamp Kawayan, the team of Rock Icon, Bamboo. She started singing at the age of 3. As one of her prizes in the singing competition, she received a recording contract and she released a self-titled studio album. She was also one of the eight contestants of the first season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.”
Elha was featured in the second season of “Little Big Shots” in the United States, hosted by Steve Harvey. She brought the house down with her breathtaking and pitch-perfect performance of Sia’s hit song, “Chandelier.” During the interview, Elha impressed Steve and the viewers even more when showed them how she belts and whistles effortlessly.
