After celebrating another year of quality stage productions, Repertory Philippines showcases it's biggest production for the year with Scrooge the musical, a story adapted from the story A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. In this timeless Christmas tale guaranteed to entertain the entire family, a man who rediscovers the true meaning of Christmas when he is visited by different ghosts in one night. Theater veterans Chinggoy Alonso and Miguel Faustmann alternately play the lead role of Ebeneezer Scrooge, the stingy businessman whose only concern is to make money for himself and no one else. In this children's classic, Repertory Philippines ups the ante with its elaborate costumes, production design and use of black lights to create an eerie feel for the ghostly visits which comprise an integral part of the story. Scrooge the musical is sure to make for a nice holiday bonding activity for the family for the holidays with it's lively song and dance production numbers, catchy songs, and engaging heartwarming story. The play, which will run until December 14, 2014 at the RCBC theater in Makati city, is composed of a talented cast led by Raul Montesa as Jacob Marley, the business partner of Scrooge who died seven years before the story, Cara Barredo as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Oliver Usison as the Ghost of Christmas Present; and Dwight Angelo Vito Cruz as the Ghost of Christmas Yet-to-Come. Chino Veguillas plays the role Scrooge's loyal assistant Bob Cratchit, and Gabo Tiongson and Soleil Luna Bueno will alternately play the role of Tiny Tim. Scrooge runs until December 14, with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm. and matinee shows on Saturdays and Sundays at 3:30 pm.
