Judy Ann and Ryan Agoncillo with their Dirty Breakfast team and Dominic Roque, who also helped out in their booth.
Though Metro Manila experienced downpours the past few days, that did not stop droves of people to troop to Twist Resto and The Clean Plate’s “Open Kitchen: The Best Kept Recipes of the Stars”
at the UP Town Center Amphitheater. After all, it was the very first weekend food market to showcase a stellar array of culinary offerings made by some of today’s most loved celebrities.
Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo’s Dirty Breakfast (it’s the recipe she prepares for her husband, Ryan, after his workout when he’s still dirty—hence the name) was a bestseller; the meaty burgers and spicy fried chicken skin of JC de Vera’s The Burgery, Vice Ganda’s Vice Toppings, and Aiza Seguerra and Liza Dino’s Adobo in A Jar were huge hits as well.
Maricar Reyes-Poon’s Choco Liquor Cakes by Maricar were simply heavenly—it was hard not to indulge.
Pokwang’s homemade suka (a favorite of Kris Aquino’s) also sold really well.
The three-day affair was graced by the celebrity merchants and their ever supportive family, friends, and colleagues.
Other celebrity food booths included Richard Yap’s Luna J Café, Angeline Quinto’s AQ’s BarBQ, Isabelle Daza’s Baguettini, Priscilla Meirelles-Estrada’s Brazilian Bakery, Sam Milby’s Third District Café, Paolo Valenciano’s Kalookies, Jake Cuenca’s Don Churros, Lovi Poe’s EATCetera, Anthony Taberna’s Ka Tunying’s Café, Paul Jake Castillo’s Yobob Lechon Cebu, and Mel Martinez’s Cucina ni Bunso, among others.
