Most astonishing makeup transformations in ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’
Of their many winning looks, here are the Final Four’s quirkiest changes

After twelve exciting, unpredictable weeks of transformations and fantastic performances on “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” the top four have been chosen: Nyoy Volante, Jay R, Melai Cantiveros, and Edgar Allan Guzman. They’ve emerged to be the best at impersonating local and international music artists and will be competing for the title of YFSF grand champion at a live final showdown this weekend at Resorts World Manila. As we wait for that, ABS-CBN Lifestyle picks from among the remarkable makeup transformations of each finalist. Here are what stood out most for us (in no particular order):

1. Nyoy Volante as Katy Perry
For a man to channel a woman is a tedious task in itself, so to be asked to transform into a flamboyant femme like Katy Perry is an even greater feat—but one that Nyoy Volante was able to pull off flawlessly. With the help of prosthetics, makeup, and a wig in Katy’s signature blue hair hue, Nyoy elicited much applause for his rendition of Firework.

2. Jay R as Alanis Morissette
Another male to female transformation gone well was Jay R’s take on Alanis Morrissette, albeit it was pretty challenging to nail Alanis’ look for a guy. Long locks masked his shaved head, and in place of his signature RnB moves went Alanis’ alternative rock vibe which more than made up for whatever was lacking in the looks department.

3. Melai Cantiveros as Elizabeth Ramsey
Melai pulled off most of her transformations well, but this one takes the cake. Everything was spot on: From her hair and makeup, to her clothes, to her gestures and candidness—she could’ve very well been Elizabeth’s long lost daughter.

4. Edgar Allan Guzman as Vice Ganda

To impersonate a chameleon like Vice Ganda takes a lot of guts, and Edgar Allan had loads when he stepped onstage with Vice even there as a guest judge. The Unkabogable Star gave EA her approval, even adding that “mas maganda sya [Edgar Allan].”
