KathNiel works it in Filipiniana and florals
In addition to their appearance on last Sunday’s “ASAP 20” marking the launch of their ongoing remake of “Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” Teen King and Queen Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo were also special guests at “ASAP Chillout,” where they were able to talk more about what the viewers can expect from the iconic teleserye. Kathryn and Daniel donned totally different looks for their two appearances, but they rocked both with panache:

Pinoy Pride

Whoever said Filipiniana is boring should take her cue from Kathryn: She opted for a dainty satin dress that hit just above the knees for their Pangako Sa’Yo production number, and this particular design (especially the neckline and cut of the sleeves), modernizes the way we view Filipiniana. Daniel may have gone all traditional in a straightforward Barong Tagalog, but his kickass demeanor ensured it was not even a bit stiff and basic.

Floral Frenzy

The Teen King and Queen’s ASAP Chillout outfits were coordinating but not matchy matchy, and still let their individual personalities shine through. In a no nonsense short-sleeved buttondown, Daniel proved that prints can be manly (Tip: It’s all about the right color palette—in his case, blue and gray), while Kathryn’s peasant top amped up her femininity as it highlighted her graceful neck and shoulders. Like this pair, make florals, and prints in general, work for you by opting for those in the same (or complementary) color family.
