Jennifer Aniston has hired Lupita Nyong'o's stylist to help her stand out from the A-list crowd.

The 'Cake' actress is tipped for an Oscar nomination and wants to "stand out" on the red carpet, so has turned to Micaela Erlanger to help her "make a statement" with her wardrobe.

A source said: "Jen is sick of always being the 'safe bet' on the red carpet and never standing out as a real fashion icon.

"With a possible Oscar nomination on its way, Jen knows it's time to step up her style and make a statement. She absolutely loved what Micaela did with Lupita last year and was obsessed with every single one of her looks."

The 45-year-old actress is known for favouring strapless gowns with minimal detailing in black or neutral colours and though she has enlisted a new stylist, she isn't planning on a radical overhaul.

The source told Grazia magazine: "Jen met with Micaela before Christmas and they discussed how she could step out of her signature look.

"Jen doesn't want to do a complete style U-turn but wants to turn heads with some spectacular frocks. This is her moment and she's ready to shine."
