Coleen Garcia’s dos and don’ts for a fit body

Long after her scorching hot bikini photos taken in the Maldives went viral, the actress-endorser’s sculpted physique still keeps on getting better

Ever since her highly fitspirational photos became an online hit over Christmas break last year, the way we see Coleen Garcia has forever been changed. From a sweet, softspoken host, Coleen is now not only considered a sultry vixen, but a woman who’s loaded with strength and determination that enable her to conquer even the most tumultuous workout routines. Who would’ve thought that there’s so much might packed in her petite frame?

Almost half a year later, Coleen’s dedication to a healthy lifestyle hasn’t wavered one bit. Even if her schedule is filled with shoots and tapings (she’s one of the lead stars of “Pasion de Amor” and has an upcoming film, “Ex With Benefits”), she works out as often as she can (she has even set up a gym at home!). If there’s one big no-no in Coleen Garcia’s ultimate fitness handbook, though, it’s forcing herself to work out even if she’s too tired and hasn’t had any sleep. “May mga tao na sobrang busy tina-try nila isingit but kailangan talaga sapat yung tulog mo, sapat yung pahinga kungdi sasakit yung ulo mo,” she advises.

While she makes it a point to eat healthy, she shares her ultimate philosophy when it comes to food: No to depriving yourself. “Hindi ako naniniwala sa diet kasi pag pinipilit mukha ka ng sobrang tuyot kasi unhappy na kayo dapat may glow pa rin—dapat may balance,” she explains, adding that she has cheat days and couldn’t resist sweets. Her favorites? Rocky road ice cream and Nathaniel’s Buko Pandan.

In this day and age where most people work out only when there’s a beach trip or a major event coming up, Coleen cites the importance of discipline and commitment. “It’s really about making it a lifestyle. Set the bar high for yourself, consistency is key,” she adds. We couldn’t agree more.
