Tony Award-winning theater actress and singer Idina Menzel is coming to the Philippines for a concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on June 7. Although she continues to have an illustrious career on Broadway, her rendition of “Let It Go,” a song from the Disney animated movie, Frozen, made her famous worldwide. Her beginnings

Born to a Jewish family, Menzel was born in Syosset, New York to Helena and Stuart Menzel. Idina’s mother worked as a therapist, while her father worked as a salesman.

Menzel’s latest Broadway musical, If/Then, wherein she plays the lead role of Elizabeth, was also critically acclaimed, giving her another Tony nomination for her performance.

Her career as a singer and actress

Despite making her mark as a Broadway performer, Menzel also has four studio albums to boot, from her 1998 debut Still, I Can’t be Still to her latest album Holiday Wishes, which was released last year and debuted as #1 at the Billboard Holiday Albums Chart.
