When “Boys Night Out” hosts Tony Toni, Slick Rick and Sam YG introduced a familiar name as guest in the 9th anniversary of its Manyak Monday program on Magic 89.9, her legions of Filipino fans were ecstatic, some others were flabbergasted, yet a great many others reacted, “Who?”
The moment Maria Ozawa began talking, she immediately trended—owing to a good number of netizens who can’t possibly make that opportunity slip away, just as if awaiting those stolen times by themselves by the VCR, DVD, or yes by their gadgets viewing Pornhub just to watch her erotic flicks. Yes, the legendary, fabled, mysterious, and phenomenal Japanese porn film actress is in the country!
And by any sort of measure, the zany trio scored a scoop!
The radio interview on Monday, April 27, was very much a revelation about who Maria is, how she blazed the trail in the “spectacular” Japanese porn film industry, and the journey to where she is right now.
But to those who expected her announcing her next porn flick, they were in for utter frustration.
Maria said she had retired from making porn movies in 2011, six years after she made her first sex flick at age 18. She had been busy making legitimate mainstream films not only in Japan, but also in Taiwan, Indonesia and China.
Her visit to the Philippines was actually for business, as she was set to sign a contract with Wesley Villarica’s Parallax Studios, which will represent her professionally in the Philippines. Part of this engagement will be cover shoots for men’s magazines like UNO and FHM.
As Maria sets a new direction in her career, will it be easy for her Filipino fans to just move on and delete her videos residing in some hidden PC drive? Maybe not.
But her move to change for the better is downright laudable.
She arrived in the country on Sunday, April 26. As she arrived, she posted this on her Instagram:
The next day, she went to the Magic 89.9 studios for the interview. And boy, weren’t they pleased to see her.
Even Bret Jackson could not waste the opportunity to have this photo-op with Maria, and “Your Place or Mine?” co-star Andi Eigenmann, that eventually became a “loaded promo.”
