Erich Gonzales’ outstanding, versatile acting performances in Kapamilya teleseryes

Being in the local entertainment scene for almost two decades, Erich Gonzales has truly grown to become one of the most in-demand and versatile actresses in the country. Through the years, she has already portrayed various roles that enabled her to showcase her acting prowess.

And beginning June 28, we’re going to see her in a different facet as she became the “new face of karma” in the much-awaited revenge drama La Vida Lena. But before she astounds us anew with her portrayal of the titular character, let’s look back on her previous television stints in this feature!

Just like other celebrities we admire at present, she entered show business by joining a reality talent show. She first came to prominence as a contestant of Star Circle Teen Quest 2, in which she was hailed as the grand winner.

Due to the promising acting talent she exhibited in the competition, not to mention her unmistakable charm and beauty, it really didn’t come as a surprise that she was given supporting roles in different teleseryes. Fresh from her win, she was immediately cast in the sitcom Ok Fine 'To Ang Gusto Nyo, which was topbilled by Aga Muhlach.

It was succeeded by her appearances in Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit (2005), Carlo J. Caparas’ Ang Panday (2005), and Calla Lily (2006). She also had her first-ever Maalaala Mo Kaya gig in 2006 through its “Regalo” episode, wherein she had the chance to work with the Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos-Recto.

Erich then had the opportunity to show her flair as a kontrabida as she played Camille Soriano, the third party in the love affair of Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu in their first-ever full-length teleserye Sana Maulit Muli aired in 2007. It was succeeded by her stints in Super Inggo 1.5: Ang Bagong Bangis and Komiks Presents: Pedro Penduko at ang mga Engkantao.

The following year, she took part in the live-action fantasy series Kung Fu Kids and in the afternoon soap operas Ligaw na Bulaklak and Carlo J. Caparas’ Pieta.

Her biggest break came in 2009 when she was tapped to portray the titular role of Elena “Nene” Reyes in the TV adaptation of the 1980s film Katorse. It was after she was chosen to be the leading lady of Gerald Anderson in Agimat: Ang Mga Alamat Ni Ramon Revilla Presents: Tiagong Akyat.

In 2010, the 30-year-old actress was cast in the melodrama Tanging Yaman as Josefina “Fina” Policarpio and in the fashion drama series Magkaribal as Chloe Abella.

After her special participation in the 2011 military drama series Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin as young Lora Sebastian (Amy Austria), she was then entrusted to play the titular role in the Philippine remake of the Mexican telenovela Maria La del Barrio opposite her perennial loveteam partner Enchong Dee.

Following her stint as Coco Martin’s leading lady in the superhero series Juan Dela Cruz in 2013, Erich was able to once again exhibit her antagonist side in the Filipino remake of the well-loved Korean drama Two Wives, in which she played the role of the mistress Janine Arguello in 2014.

A year after, she had a finale special participation in the Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano-starrer Forevermore as Alex Pante, succeeded by her first-ever Ipaglaban Mo gig via its “Nakaw Na Sandali” episode.

In 2016, she made our morning brighter as the family-oriented and optimistic Pinang Crisostomo in the daytime drama Be My Lady. Then in 2018, she dominated primetime with her exceptional portrayal of not just one, but three different characters in The Blood Sisters, as the estranged triplets Erika, Carrie, and Agatha.

And this year, we’re going to see Erich in a different light as she plays the fierce and vengeful Lena in the upcoming revenge drama La Vida Lena, which will premiere this coming June 28. You may catch it on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live and A2Z Channel 11!
