He got the handsome face. He got the brilliant talent. He got the magnetic charm. He got the admirable personality.
Possessing these qualities, there’s definitely no doubt that Jericho Rosales has been one of the biggest and brightest stars in the local entertainment scene. Thus, many were certainly delighted when he made a TV comeback by starring in the newest teleserye offering of ABS-CBN Studios and Dreamscape Entertainment, “Lavender Fields.”
As we look forward to finding out whether we’ll see him again on the series or not after the presumed death of his character, Tyrone de Vera, let us revisit some of his acting stints on television that became part of his remarkable nearly three-decade journey from a matinee idol to a seasoned leading man in this Kapamilya Time-list feature!
Following his victory in a noontime variety show pageant for men, Jericho scored his soap opera debut via the Judy Ann Santos-starrer “Esperanza,” which aired from 1997 to 1999. From 1999 to 2002, he was part of the weekly family drama “Ang Munting Paraiso,” as one of its main cast members. It was also the first time that he was paired with Kristine Hermosa, who eventually became his perennial loveteam partner and even real-life sweetheart.
Their tandem earned positive feedback from viewers and gained avid supporters; thus, they were tapped to headline the iconic romance drama “Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” through which they won a lot of hearts of hearts from different parts of the world as the famous fictional lovers Angelo Buenavista and Yna Macaspac. It ran from 2000 to 2002 and was immediately followed by another teleserye, “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas,” which was aired from 2003 to 2004.
Jericho was then able to showcase his action chops via “Carlo J. Caparas’ Ang Panday.” (2005-2006), the TV adaptation of the Fernando Poe Jr. film series of the same title from the early 1980s. He was indeed fascinating in his portrayal of the titular character Tristan and his team-up with Heart Evangelista, with whom he eventually had a romantic affair.
Just a year later, he worked on the 2007 series “Pangarap na Bituin” as the handsome and talented rockstar Terrence Rodriguez, who was the beau of lead character Emerald Gomez, played by Sarah Geronimo. In 2008, the Asian Drama King was paired with Malaysian actress Carmen Soo in the romance-action drama “Kahit Isang Saglit.”
He then starred in two primetime dramas in 2009, entitled “I Love Betty La Fea” and “Dahil May Isang Ikaw.”. The latter served as his reunion project with former on-and-off-screen partner Kristine Hermosa, six years after they last worked together.
In 2011, he was cast in “Green Rose,” the Philippine adaptation of the 2005 South Korean drama series of the same title, wherein he got to work with Anne Curtis as his leading lady. It was also that year when he made a brief yet significant stint in the inspirational series “100 Days to Heaven,” in which he captivated viewers as Tagabantay disguised as a security guard.
The seasoned actor figured in a love triangle with Piolo Pascual and Cristine Reyes in “Dahil sa Pag-ibig” (2012), then became a philandering husband of Angel Locsin’s character in the highly notable series “The Legal Wife” in 2014. He once again found himself in a crazy love affair with Maja Salvador and Paulo Avelino in the 2015 series “Bridges of Love.”
Jericho then made us fall in love and sympathize with his characters in the romance drama “Magpahanggang Wakas” (2016-2017), which he top-billed opposite Arci Muñoz, and in the highly talked-about series Halik (2018-2019) that he starred alongside Yam Concepcion, Sam Milby, and Yen Santos.
And in his latest teleserye project, “Lavender Fields,” he got us both smitten and annoyed at him as he ignited the raging war between two women who were both madly in love with him.
Watch out for Jericho’s reappearance in the well-loved series by not missing an episode, weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live,, TV5 and A2Z.
