Jamie Rivera says there shouldn’t be a barrier between religions as we are all God’s children
Kris TV commemorated the coming of Pope Francis in the country today, January 15 with guest co-hosts Carmina Villaroel-Legaspi, Jamie Rivera, Vina Morales, Erik Santos and Klarisse de Guzman.

Sharing that she has returned to being Catholic, Vina Morales said that just like her sister, Shaina Magdayao, she is also a devotee of Padre Pio. Further, she shared that it was a priest who discovered her potential as a singer. However, she admitted to have tried to attend another religion’s activities for a while. But then she said, “Until I realized yung calling ko talaga is being a Catholic.”

Host Kris Aquino supported this by saying, “Actually, totoo yun. I think where you are most comfortable and at peace and closest to your maker, that’s where you should be.” The Queen of All Media then shared that she has also read books by Christian authors yet at the end of the day, she remains to be a Catholic  and a Marian devotee.

Meanwhile, singer Jamie Rivera who is known for her Inspirational songs, shared that she also has Born-Again friends and said, “For me, dapat there shouldn’t be any barrier between them. Any religion, Born-Again, Christians… because we are all… yun nga, dito sa kanta nga, we are all God’s children so dapat walang ano regardless of religion.”

Speaking of Jamie, she talked about her 18-year-old daughter who is bound to go to college abroad. According to her, her unica hija did not take entrance exams in Philippine colleges anymore but took tests abroad such as in the United States and Canada.

“Kakayanin ko kasi hindi na siya nag-exam dito sa Philippines. Hindi niya ko binigyan ng choice. Talagang nag-exam siya, nag-apply siya puro abroad…” said the soulful singer, who shared that her husband supports their child all the way. Further, she said that her daughter took up the required international tests as well such as the SAT and International Baccalaureate. “Tatanggap na ko ng mga shows sa America or sa Canada para lagi na kong makapunta,” she excitedly said. Nonetheless, she said she feels ready and trusts God in this endeavor.
