It’s a musical morning on Kris TV as The Voice Kids final four namely Lyca Gairanod, Darren Espanto, Juan Karlos Labajo and Darlene Vibares joined Kris Aquino, Pokwang, Jed Madela and Erich Gonzales in the show’s Monday episode.
Darren and Jed performed, “Ngayon” by Basil Valdes. Awed by the child’s singing prowess, Kris requested a sing-off between Darren and the recording artist. Darren, who likes ballads and pop songs, performed Whitney Houston’s “One Moment in Time.” Jed joined him in singing “Better Days” by Dianne Reeves. Kris commended Darren’s diction in singing both Filipino and English songs.
Darren shared that he vocalizes with the help of his parents, who are both registered nurses in Canada. Earlier in the show, he said that he would not be returning to Canada yet as he has offers in the Philippines. They also plan to have him home-schooled.
Later, Darlene revealed that both of her parents are good in singing, implying that she inherited her talent from them. Juan Karlos, who shared that he is not sure where he got his singing abilities, said that he started singing at the age of 4.
However, Lyca, who is now 9 years old, surprised the hosts after she revealed that she only started singing when she was 7. Her mother, Nesel confirmed this by saying that Lyca was really into dancing. Further, Lyca shared that she got her singing skill from her father who is a fisherman in Cavite.
