The Gold Squad already tried riding with an ATV (All-terrain Vehicle). Now, they are racing each other with Go Karts! To make this more competitive, it will be Andrea Brillantes against Francine Diaz and Kyle Echarri against Seth Fedelin, instead of pairing off into love teams.
Before anything else, they first had to learn about the important safety rules. They must keep in mind that they are on go karts, not bumper cars. So, they have to avoid collisions as much as possible. There is also a proper way of holding the steering wheel because they are going at high speeds. Aside from driving, they will also need to take note of different signals. A yellow flag means they need to slow down because they are prone to danger and need to be extra careful. A blue flag means you have to give way and move to the side because someone is going faster, to prevent any accidents. Lastly, the black and white checkered flag means the race is over.
Finally, it is time for the boys to get behind the wheel. “Para talaga kong nagkakarera,” Seth described the feeling. It was obvious he had a lot of fun, but it was his first time on a go kart. So, it was a very new experience. His advice for Andrea is not to step on the breaks too hard at turns. Meanwhile, Kyle was taught how to race by his dad. His advice for Francine is to hug the curb when making a turn.
Despite the advice, the girls did not compete. Andrea seemed like a natural. Her helmet was too big, she could barely reach the pedals and her contacts were drying up. But she was still confident. Francine was the complete opposite. She collided with the tires at least five times. So, she did not bother to compete, but she still had a good time.
Just watching Andrea, Francine, Kyle and Seth could give you an adrenaline rush. So, when are you planning to race on go karts with your squad?
