As a young actor and singer, it is important for Kyle Echarri to always be healthy. One way he stays in shape is by playing basketball. So, we offered to give his favorite exercise the Gold Squad twist with the help of Brgy. South Triangle Ballers!
Like any basketball game, they will divide into groups of three then play a quick 20-minute game. Before this, however, both teams will have to pick a representative for a 3-point shootout. They each get five balls. The surprise twist is that for every missed shot, a mystery vegetable will be added to a special smoothie which the losing team will have to drink.
So, what vegetables will they be blending together? Team Kyle was able to score one point during the 3-point shootout. Thanks to this basket, they avoided some spinach. Unfortunately, they will have to drink up a concoction of bell peppers, siling panigang, a fresh egg and an apple. “Okay lang kung hindi ko ma-shoot lahat basta manalo kami mamaya,” Kyle thought optimistically. On the other hand, the opposing Team South Triangle also scored a point to avoid cucumbers. Still, they ended up with a lemon, ampalaya atchara, celery and ginger. “Hindi ako kumakain ng kahit anong veggies,” Kyle admitted.
Setting aside their honest fear and disgust for the “green smoothies” they will have to face, the game must go on. After a sweaty 20-minute match, Team Kyle won by nine points, but the Kadenang Ginto star’s celebration was cut short. As the guest of honor for this challenge, he still had to drink with the losing team. “Binigay ko lahat,” he cried in despair.
Since he wanted to be a good sport, he readied his gut and took the scariest sip of his life. He was ready to gag but managed to hold it in and even offered some advice. “As long as you’re healthy, hindi naman kailangan ng ‘yung physical appearance mo is perfect,” he ended.
