Kadenang Ginto is the latest teleserye that has landed on the Kapamilya Gold line-up and despite its heavily dramatic story there are two young ladies in the frontlines.
We all saw how Daniela (Dimples Romana) stole everything from Romina (Beauty Gonzales), including Carlos (Adrian Alandy), during the show’s pilot week. Viewers then witnessed how Romina got back on her feet as she found the arms of Robert (Albert Martinez). Now, the confrontations are bound to get even more intense to the point that their bad blood has been passed down to their daughters. Marga and Cassie’s rivalry is only beginning.
Portraying Marga, Andrea Brillantes revealed that her character was brought up to always be on top and power hungry. She grew spoiled and will always get her way. The little brat is even likened to the iconic Mean Girl Regina George. On the other hand, Francine Diaz explained that as Cassie she plays a humbler role. The optimistic child and total sweetheart can do no wrong. Even when Marga bullies her, Cassie would rather try to understand the evil queen’s actions.
Aside from learning and becoming closer through workshops, the two also have separate ways in preparing for a scene.
“Hindi po ko sanay na maging mataray,” Andrea shared. One of the tricks she does is practicing her facial expression in front of a mirror like how she should raise her eyebrows go look smug. She also has to modify her voice to fit Marga’s confident persona. As for Francine, it is all about being more and more energetic.
“Mahinhin ako kasi dati. So,
ngayon medyo nagiging energetic
na rin ako,” she retold. It is also helpful that Andrea is naturally bubbly.
The best part about this project, however, is probably the chance to be working with some of the most experienced in the world of show business.
Despite her age, Andrea has already been in the industry for eight years. Fans would remember that one of her previous roles was Annaliza from the 2013 remake of the 1980 classic series of the same name. She confessed that working with veteran actors can be intimidating,
“Medyo nakakahiya magkamali.” But she tries her best and can proudly say that she has only made one mistake, so far.
“Ako, gusto ko lang talagang magpasikat,” she joked. Andrea added that being with the likes of Albert Martinez and Dimples Romana has been a fun journey.
Meanwhile, Francine is still a rookie in the business. She admitted that she still makes a lot of mistakes but will give this project only her very best. Initially playing young roles, she considers finally earned a lead part as a big blessing. Luckily, acting alongside their Tito Albert Martinez has been a great help. Often having scenes together, he has willingly guided her. A tip she got from him is to practice a line with different emotions.
To work with these names is an opportunity that many young artists could only wish of, but Andrea and Francine are living that dream. Surely, viewers can expect a memorable performance from these rising stars.
