From touching our hearts with her portrayals of innocent and kindhearted young girls in the previous television and movie projects she had, teen actress Andrea Brillantes has been doing a great job in agitating us with her compelling performance as the bida-kontrabida Marga Bartolome in the well-loved afternoon soap opera Kadenang Ginto.
Despite the irritating demeanor of her character, we certainly couldn’t help but still be all-praises to her with how she exceptionally depicts a spoiled brat who’s not used to not achieving everything she wants and being defeated by anyone, especially by her stiffest rival-slash-aunt Cassie Mondragon, played by fellow rising teen star Francine Diaz.
But before we bade farewell to the series we’ve been fervently watching since 2018 this Friday, let’s reminisce the 10 moments when Andrea absolutely stirred us up with her captivating acting as Marga via this Kapamilya Toplist.
Being the unica hija of the spiteful main antagonist Daniela Mondragon (Dimples Romana) to Carlos (Adrian Alandy), it actually didn’t come as a s surprise that she would grow up to be as hostile as her mom.
Those who have been following the show probably knew that ever since she was a kid, Marga has been harboring ill-feelings towards Cassie after Daniela instilled in her that she and her mom Romina (Beauty Gonzalez) were taking away the things that were really meant for them – the love and attention of their patriarch Robert (Albert Martinez), their family’s wealth, and Carlos, who used to be Romina’s lover.
From petty fights, their encounters have gone intense and frequent as not a day went by without them having scorching spats and/or severe scuffles, which often led to one of or both them getting hurt physically. Besides, Cassie and her friends have been the subject of Marga and fake squad’s bullying and wrongful accusations as well, which often ensued to their fiery squabbles as the former mustered enough courage to retaliate.
Apart from that, it’s also her self-centered and manipulative nature that arguably irk the viewers so much as she uses her charm in order to get anything she wanted, control the people around her, and get past from any terrible situation she’s in. She would pretend getting hurt and being the victim in every scuffle, then point at Cassie as the one who ignited the commotion.
Marga’s grudge against Cassie grew more intense after the latter got romantically involved with Kristoff (Kyle Echarri), the guy she’d been crushing on yet has been smitten with Cassie ever since they were kids. She did everything she could in order to take him away from her and hinder their blossoming relationship then to no avail. She then went more hostile against Cassie as they got involved in a series of skirmish in lieu of her mom Daniela’s sudden loss, which she blamed to Cassie and Romina since they’re the ones who hold wrath against her.
She may be wicked, but we’re surely going to miss Marga as Kadenang Ginto concludes this coming Friday. So, you better not skip an episode, okay?
