While her character Romina Mondragon lives in a luxurious and huge mansion in the well-loved soap opera Kadenang Ginto, which is currently re-airing on Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live every weekend, actress Beauty Gonzalez resides in an eclectic, art-filled bungalow in real life.
As she’s someone who is not keen in putting her personal life out in the open as she gives privacy utmost value. Thus, we were all delighted when she warmly welcomed us in their humble abode and imparted a bit of her personal life by letting StarStudio Magazine and The Gold Squad have separate tours inside her house.
Being a self-confessed art enthusiast ever since she was young and having an art curator husband, it’s totally not surprising to know and see that her private sanctuary, which the 29-year-old actress considers as her “mini museum”, is abounding with different kinds of art – from paintings, sculptures, movie posters, and artistically-crafted pieces of furniture.
In StarStudio’s Home Exclusive in 2017, she disclosed that she and husband Norman found their current home, back when she was still pregnant with daughter Olivia. Located in a village in the south of Metro Manila, she said that she fell in love with the place as it reminded her of hometown Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental and Cebu, not to mention that it’s quiet and child-friendly.
“It was a fun experience looking for this home. Inisa-isa namin. We saw this place and we liked it. It’s small but we don’t really need a big house. The interiors are all by my husband. The art is all his stuff. We tend to work together. Before he does something, he asks my opinion. He buys the art, and I bought some of the furniture,” Beauty related on that interview.
She went on to give us a further peek of their house last year, when her Kadenang Ginto younger co-stars Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz, Kyle Echarri, and Seth Fedelin visited her. Aside from sharing a few details or stories behind every artwork and her fascination with saints, she also showed them her mini garden where she usually works out; her mini library that contains her wide array of books, magazines, and comics; her dining and kitchen area where more artworks, antique pieces, and her collection of Megalodon tooth are displayed; her skateboard and painting materials.
The fun museum, err, house tour capped off with The Gold Squad imparting which artwork or pieces was their favorite, and with their Ate Beauty telling them how her inclination to art began when she was just a kid by trying her hand on painting and going to different old churches.
“No’ng bata pa kasi ako, I love reading books. I love educating myself to passion. I love educating myself to antiques, to interiors. Not a lot of people know this, alam lang nila ‘yong generic na design and interior. I’m happy to share it to you, guys,” the seasoned actress said.
Then she added, “Art is something that has to get your attention. It has something that will strike inside of you, and it’s something that you love.”
