The It's Showtime family paid tribute to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Saturday, November 30.
The production number was opened and closed by the Tawag ng Tanghalan Season 2 grand champion Janine Berdin, Season 3’s winner Elaine Duran and the Folk-Rock Mover Ato Arman who all sang "Bulong."
Following the opening was a dance act by the kilig ambassadors Hashtags, then came three former OFWs who are now successful in their respective fields in the country.
The first to enter the stage was Rebecca Bustamante who was a former domestic helper in Singapore.
She now has her own recruitment firm that helps Filipinos build a future outside the country.
"Meron na 'kong negosyo na nagpapakita ng ganda ng Pilipinas at nag-aangat ng galing ng Pinoy sa ibang bansa," she said.
Following her was Rudolfo Valenzuela who served as a hardware salesman in Saudi Arabia.
At present, he already owns two hardware stores in the country that hire his fellow Filipinos.
"Meron na 'kong dalawang sariling hardware na nakapagbibigay ng maayos na buhay sa kapwa nating Pilipino," he said.
The last one was Dina Dela Paz-Stalder who lived in England as a domestic helper. She was recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World by the Filipina Women's Network back in 2017. Dina now owns her own dermatology and aesthetics clinic in the country.
"Nakapagpundar ako ng sariling negosyo na tumutulong ngayon na mapadali ang buhay ng ating mga kababayan," she shared.
Also present in the opening number was the Nocturnal Dance Company and XB Gensan.
The three OFWs were given a certificate of recognition for their hard work and success.
